Recognizing those who have passed in the wedding program

We're getting married in July and my FI's grandmother just passed away in March. He wanted something special in the wedding program for her and I'm all for that however, both sets of my grandparents have passed away, not to mention numerous close aunts and uncles so because of that I wanted to write something general otherwise the program is going to be quite depressing, naming each and every person who is no longer with us. I mentioned before that I didn't think it would be good to list everyone individually and I really don't think that because her death was the most recent she should be the only one mentioned....even if we just mentioned grandparents by name that would be already be five people. I don't know what to do without sounding like I'm trying to downplay his grandmother's passing...

  • I'm placing a rose on each of two empty seats in the front row.  One for each of my grandmothers who are no longer living.
