Invitation etiquette

We purchased our invitations today and we need to get them out ASAP! 

The mother of the groom is making a generous contribution to our wedding. 

(edit: to be clear she is the only one paying for our wedding besides my fiance and myself)

It is traditional for the brides parents to pay for the wedding, so normally on an invite it would say: 

mr. and mrs. John Smith

request the pleasure of your company

at the marriage of their daughter...

 

that obviously won't work in this case. It is also not both sets of parents either. Should we do it as if it is the bride and groom are inviting?  -- we are so lost. How should we word the first part?

The groom's mother will be paying for the larger portion of the wedding. We (bride and groom) will be paying for what is left. So I think that means that the groom's mother is hosting the wedding?

If the bride's parents do not approve of the wedding and will not be attending the wedding, or if the bride's parents are deceased, then the groom's parents can host the wedding. 

But HOSTING is not the same as PAYING.

If your parents ARE involved and supportive, and THEY will be doing the HOSTING (we understand they will not be PAYING, but again HOSTING is very different from PAYING), then your parents' names DO go on the top line as the HOSTS.  No matter WHO pays.

HAHA...i'm not even going to post my invite...it completely violates every rule and i'm pretty sure some of you would have a coronary.
