Hello Ladies - DH and I are back from wonderful Hawaii and back to reality, very jet lagged but at work nonetheless.....blah. Here's my very long vendor review... DJ Andy Booth – A + Andy was awesome to work with. His online planning website was great and made planning a lot easier. He was the ultimate professional, listened to what we wanted and played songs that kept the dance floor busy the entire night!! Highly recommend! Jenni Grace Photography – A + I am so thrilled to have had her as my photographer. Jenni is so easy to work with, very professional and fun!! I love her creativity, our wedding slideshow is fun to watch and the pictures are beautiful. Her assistant was also wonderful too!! Highly recommend. Pittsburgh Wedding DVD – A + (I haven’t received the final product yet so this review is based on the day of.) Candace and Kevin were easy to work with. They were there on time, did want we wanted and were unobtrusive. So hopefully the video shows good, quality work (which from their samples, I’m sure it will). Recommend. The Fluted Mushroom – A + All the Food was EXCELLENT, service was EXCELLENT, our manager was easy to work with, answered all of our questions, made good recommendations that helped. Highly recommend. Signature Desserts – A +. I loved our cake. The desserts looked good (I did not get a chance to have any) our guests raved about them. Best carrot cake hands down was what I was told by many people. Linda and her husband (can’t remember his name) are very nice people, their prices are good and our cake was yummy!! High recommend. Alex’s Flowers – A + My flowers were exactly what I had wanted. Alex incorporated all the flowers that I wanted into beautiful centerpieces and bouquets. His prices were great too!! Highly recommend. A Tortoise Limo – A + Had absolutely no problems. They were on time, had a fully stocked limo of all sorts of beverages, the driver was also pleasant (I think his name was Jim). Highly recommend. A-1 Rentals – A. Charged DH’s credit card without authorization, which made him upset. Otherwise, delivered everything on time and had no other problems. Victoria’s Linens – A+ I love Vicky. Her services were great, she was timely, helpful, pleasant to work with. She even helped set up some tables because I was strapped for time. She made S&S look elegant, warm and cozy. Highly recommend. Heinz Chapel – A+ Annita and Jackie the coordinators were nice, helpful and made things run very smoothly. If you can get a time slot, I highly recommend. My only complaint is that the brides room was way too warm. Soldiers & Sailors – B (maybe even a C). We love the venue!! We didn’t love working with their events coordinator so much, which is why I am giving them a lower grade. I am sure most of you know about our problems so I won’t go into detail but she was a headache and up until the day before our wedding, she was trying to get even more money our of us. It is not BYOB anymore. Their alcohol manager was nice but talked way too much, he was there the entire time of our reception and was extremely helpful. The bartenders were good and cut people off when they knew they were getting too drunk. My only other complaint is that the bartenders served shots which was something we asked them not to do – oh well! I recommend the venue, it is a nice, beautiful place. Brooke Rockwell – A+. Brooke has been my full time stylist for the past 4 years. I loved how she did my hair and my bm’s hair. She was early to start the day!! High recommend (not only for wedding day services but for general hair needs). BEK Cosmetics – A+. Katie is wonderful!! She offers wedding packages which includes facials, trial runs, waxing, etc. She comes to you with a massage bed to give you facials and waxing and even your make-up trial run. When I finally met Katie to start my facials, she was 9 months pregnant, but she took the time to schedule me in, came to my house for my first facial, and then after that I went to her house for my second facial and wedding make up trial run. She couldn’t do my third facial, she finally delivered her baby girl (2 weeks late) and had a sick 3 year old and family in town. She came to the hotel with her newborn (Katie is nursing) and husband to do my make up the day of. I had airbrushing done (highly recommend), her and Peter (her DH) were so much fun and actually were the most relaxing part of my day. I highly recommend Katie!! She’s does amazing work and I loved my make up that lasted about 30 hours! Wyndham Hotel (rehearsal dinner) – C. The food was ok, the service was ok. They had only one server working a room that had over 30 very hungry, very thirsty people. We had to wait forever to get a refill on our water. Wyndham Hotel (for accommodation) – B. DH and I had no problems. Other people did, dirty rooms, no towels, no toilet paper, etc. I don’t think the hotel was prepared for the influx of people from our wedding and homecoming weekend. Wyndham Hotel (after wedding brunch) – A. Food was great and had a good selection of stuff. Again, only one server for a very busy, hungry crowd. She did a good job though. No complaints. Recommend. Wyndham Hotel (shuttle). C. It was a busy weekend with homecoming/weather/Oakland traffic), etc. The driver was just flat out rude and inconsiderate to our guests even though we had paid him extra for his services. I think that is all for my vendor reviews – DH and I had a fabulous day filled with great vendors and wonderful family and friends. Our guests had fun, and were well fed with great food…we all danced and drank. However, I am glad that wedding planning is over and life can go back to normal. Our honeymoon to Hawaii was amazing and very relaxing!!
