A Monday Morning MIL LOL for You

Not sure if you ladies remember or not, but MIL used to be one those department store interior decorators (the people that come out to measure and recommend blinds, drapes, etc). She got canned, just like she does from all her jobs, but since they fired her after a big public shouting match she had with a black co-worker, she actually filed a suit for wrongful termination. After 2 years of lawyers fees and court dates, she got a verdict last week. The judge ruled that her employer was indeed guilty of reverse discrimination. However, since they were looking for a reason to fire her anyway, the judge ruled that MIL was entitled to $1 in damages. 2 years of a lawsuit, ONE freaking dollar. LMAO! Yet another reason that MIL = moron. $1 isn't worth 15 minutes of my time, much less 2 years of meetings with an attorney and showing up in court.

Ha!  $1 isn't worth one minute of my time!  Maybe she can play the lottery and get lucky. :p

WOW. Sounds like she got what she deserved!

Did she get awarded attorney fees or was her lawyer taking her case on a contingency fee basis?  If that's the case, she probably got what, 75 cents?  lol.

Bri - I'm pretty sure it was contingency fees, meaning she gets less than her $1 now :)

LOL. Well at least she doesn't have to pay tax on her "damages".  It's really too bad the attorney can't count this case towards his/her pro bono hours for the year. Darn that 25 cents!

I really have the urge to sign her up on websites for those scams thats like, 'If you're receiving multiple payments from a settlement, let us get all your money now'. Haha. That would make me laugh.

I feel bad for the attorney...not just a waste of time, but good lord I can't imagine spending 2 years working with your MIL.
