hairdresser issue

I was supposed to have my extensions appointment Sunday, and I came in for my appointment but it didn't happen, and it left me feeling uneasy about my hairdresser. I love her and she does a great job with my hair, but things did not go to plan, tell me if this sounds sketchy to you.

Here are the things that were wrong:

1) The hair that she showed me didn't seem to match my color, but i got over it.

2) She brought in the wrong kind of extensions, me and her discussed doing the tape extension method ,which is about $50 less than the i-link method, that she brought in, but i got over it.

3) I asked her for the price again and she named off another 50 bucks more than what we originally discussed she would charge me, I told her according to her emails she said she would charge me less and she said okay, not a big deal.

4) The hair extension were much too short, my hair is 10 1/2 inches, she brought in 12 inches. There was hardly a length difference. She should have measured my hair before assuming. So basically, I told her that I can't proceed, I am sorry that I wasted mine and hers time, but there was no way I was paying so much money for extensions that were hardly longer then my hair.

We talked about trying to do it again Wednesday, and she can bring in 16-18 inch hair, I texted her last night but I haven't heard from her yet, not a word, not an email either, she said she would email me.

I felt bad sitting there and complaining, but I feel like I was justified. I felt like I was being ripped off here. This time, I told her to please order the tape extensions, the length I want, and please give me the final price you are going to charge me so there are no surprises.

Still no word from her. Should I contact her again today, or just wait to see if she contacts me by tomorrow?

Plan B is to go to sally's and buy some clip in extensions to wear for my wedding day.

My wedding is Saturday.

Re: hairdresser issue

  • Yikes. What an awful experience. I would try and find a plan B hairdresser and if nothing else, yes do it myself before I trust someone who obviously isn't too concerned with providing a service.
If you decide to still use her, just realize the stress level you're adding to yourself in wondering if it's all going to work out on the day.
