Washing hair @ panteenexpert

Hi,
I have verrrry long, thick, slightly curly hair. Its not particularly oily or dry. I used to wash it every other day, towel/air dry it, and that seemed to work pretty well. However, now I'm training for a half marathon and therefore working out 4-5 days/week. I feel like I should wash it when I shower after working out but I'm not sure if this will dry it out too much or something. Should I wash it every time I work out, or just rinse it some times, or what?
