I've been toying with the idea.  Part of me doesn't want Jason to see me until I walk down the aisle, but if we do this before we won't have to spend the entire cocktail hour taking pictures (i.e. we'll actually be able to mingle and talk with our guests).  It's still up the air, but we have quite a while to decide.

Yes. We want to do some photos pre-wedding...it's not exactly traditional but then again neither are we. However, I think it's a sweet idea not to see each other but I'm a photog junkie...I want LOTS of pics!!!

We won't be doing a first look. 

I agree that first look pictures always look great, but I'm a bit of a traditionalist so I would much rather see the look on my FI's face as I'm walking down the aisle. 

That being said, I know girls who do a first look that say it was nice to have that special moment alone with their FI  and that it made them less nervous.  I think it really comes down to what you and your FI prefer

I was really torn about it. On one hand I love the idea of him seeing me for the first time as I walk down the aisle. On the other and I'd love to see him if I'm nervous or anxious. So if the latter occurs, I might do something my photographer just did with one of her brides. Before the ceremony, they didn’t’ see each other, they just held hands to calm each other down. Here's the pic she took. It looks like such a sweet moment and still doesn’t break tradition. Knowing me and my nerves, we might have to do this!

I love that idea!  A girl I went to highschool with did something similar, except they both wore blindfolds.

I am doing the first look. I dont like the fact of when he first sees me in all my beauty that we wont be able to take it all in. I walk down the isle...both of us probably crying and then when your up there at the alter you dont get a private minute to take each other in and talk and hold each other and cry and just be alone for a while.

So I am definetly doing the first look. I want the photog to capture that first second of when he first sees me and how happy we are and then we can get our pictures out of the way and pics with the bridal party before the ceremony.

The first look is something I am very excited about doing!

We are doing a first look mainly because I don't want my makeup ruined or smelling like sweat when we do our pictures!! I do not photograph well and I need all the help I can get!! I know too that it isn't traditional but we're not really either.

We are doing a first look.  My FI is pretty traditional so I was surprised when he agreed.  I agree with the other girls when they said it would allow a private moment with their FI to take everything in as well as get some of the nerves out of the way.

We won't be. I want his first look at me to be as I am walking down the asile to him. Just thinking about that makes me excited. lol

We will be doing a first look for sure, we depend on each other way too much emotionally to go that long apart on our wedding day.  We will both be crying so it will also give me some time to get some of the emotions out and fix my makeup.

Yes, we are doing a first look!  Originally I was opposed to it, but once I heard from other Knotties on why it's a good idea and once we talked to our photographer about it, I decided it really might be the best idea.  It would be really nice to get a few moments to ourselves before the evening begins, and I want him to see me without the pressure of having 100 people staring at him!  I'm also really emotional, and I really don't want to do the ugly cry in front of all my guests.   Some people cry and look beautiful...me?  My face swells up, I get red dots around my lips, my eyes get puffy, and its just...wow.

This brings up an interesting point! We will be holding hands around a doorway and praying together before the day starts. It's one of our items we are most excited about!

We are not doing the first look. Danny told me that he wants the first time he seeing be to walking down the aisle. Which is what I want to. It will be amazing. I can't wait! Haha!!

Yes, we are doing a first look for two reasons. 1) So we can have a moment alone to relax and get our nerves out of the way, and 2) So we can get our bridal party pictures done before the ceremony while my hair and makeup is still looking fresh!

I think we'll be doing a first look...our ceremony isn't until 6:30 and I want to make sure we get some great outdoor pictures while the sun is still shining! He won't cry either way, but I think his reaction might be sweeter when he doesn't have a bunch of people watching

We are definitely doing it. I want it to be an intimate time between FI and I. We are also having a later ceremony since it is on a Friday, so almost all of the pictures will be done before hand.
