NWR.... I just need to vent...

So.... today is my birthday and guess what. My FI didn't get me anything for my birthday. I know money is tight right now especially with wedding, but he could have atleast gotten me a card.... I am so mad and hurt.... Am I just being stupid for feeling this way?

Happy Birthday! You aren't wrong for feeling this way.  My friend celebrated her birthday on her Honeymoon and was bummed when her husband didn't do anything special for her.  it isperfectly understandable a little acknowledgment would be nice.

I would be really upset too. More hurt than mad. But screw it!! If he's not gonna do something for you, then just do something for yourself!! Go get a pedicure! They're pretty cheap and last for a while! And it really feels like your spoiling yourself.

So sorry to hear you're feeling hurt.  I agree with PP though...the day isn't over...maybe he'll do something like make you dinner or dessert or rent your favorite movie, it may not be much but it's the little things that can be the most special, especially when money is tight.

If he doesn't do anything, then I'm all for splurging a little for a manicure or even a pretty polish change to make you feel special.  Can't always depend on others to make us feel good...even when they should
