Sooo Irritated.

So I had to work last night so I wasn't here to witness any of this happen.  But my mom woke me up this morning and told me one of the ladies from my venue called.  Now, I'm going to have to give you a little bit of background info.  My venue was still under construction when I booked and they were supposed to be opening this summer adn were having a big Grand Opening Gala.  Well the lady called last night and told my mom that they were no longer opening, AT ALL.  I was so pissed.  I mean luckily I have time to get things together and get a new venue.  But I'm so irritated right now, how can they do that!!  I mean seriously!  There are girls that booked for this summer and they were completely booked for fall!  Now I have to find a new venue and I'm almost considering going back to my original plan and just having a DW and and AHR.  Because I feel like maybe this is a sign.

I am sorry.... Do you get your deposit back? Hopefullly everything is going to work out for you in the end...

They said they were mailing everyone's deposit back.  My mom said she didn't think they ever cashed the check and if they didn't she is just going to put a Stop payment on the check.  I just feel like it is all very shady how this all turned out!

I agree!!! If you do a DW where are you thinking about having it?

Probably Jamaica or Mexico!!  I originally wanted a DW and my family kind of talked me out of it saying I will have my honeymoon and I'll miss not having a wedding at home so I went with it.  But I visited Couples Swept Away with my FI last year and LOOOVED it and would love to have my wedding there.  That or at the Palace Resorts in Mexico!  They have absolutely beautiful weddings!

That's awful but be glad you found out sooner rather than later.  Can you imagine if you were one of the girls getting married this summer or fall who booked with that place?  Thank goodness you've got time to find another place!

As you said, just be glad it happened now. That is aweful for them to decide not to open at all. Hopefully this will give you a chance to think the DW again if you really want it.

Yea, they said something about the city not granting them the permits for the amount of people that they wanted it to hold.  I find it kind of weird that that is the only thing making them not open at all.  I talked to my mom about doing a DW this morning and its definitely an option but I am going to check out some other venues.  My mom thinks this is a good thing since I'm not so wrapped up in the excitement of being engaged and planning a wedding I can take the time to make a sound decision instead of a rushed one!
