HM Registry?

FI and I have been invited to an old HS friend of his' wedding in June (they are not invited to ours, FI is not close to him anymore and hasn't been since HS). I don't want to just give them money, I would like to get the couple an actual gift. They are registered at the Poconos where they are going for their HM, you pay for them to do certain activities on their HM. I am not okay with this, I would prefer to give them an actual gift, but what should I get them?

Yeah...I don't care for HM registries either. I think they're cash grabby.

What about an assortment of kitchen gadgets? Or I know I hate, hate spending money on new towels.

Maybe you could get them something to use on the honeymoon- beach towels, flip flops, summer shirts, fluffy robes etc?

That's the only place they're registered?  That definitely wouldn't sit well with me either.

How about some fancy spices?  Really good cinnamon (the grocery store variety just isn't the same after that!), a nice grilling mix, something for veggies.  I've put together an assortment like this for friends for showers/weddings from an upscale spice store in town and they've loved them.

Yeah I like the idea of flip flops and stuff they could use on the HM, that would be a fun gift.

While the beach stuff is a great idea, the Poconos are in the mountains in Pennsylvania.  I've been there in the summer before, and while there are lots of pools, most people do outdoorsy stuff (hiking, bike riding, etc.).  I think flippy floppys are fine, but maybe some other things that go along with being in the mountains.

Thanks for all of your ideas, I really appreciate them all! I think I will go with either the kitchen gadgets or the spice idea, and definitely do a gift receipt!
