Mother's Day Weekend

We set the date for May 12, 2012.

Not even realizing this is Mother's Day weekend!

Does anyone think this will be a problem??  I don't think so, but I just freaked out a little once someone brought it to my attention.

Someone re-assure me its fine.... :)

it's fine! I don't think it's a big deal. Everyone will still find time to spend with their moms  :)

  • I don't think it is a big deal. If you are still unsure about it you can change it to the 19th, its the only weekend in May that there isn't a holiday.

  • You'll be fine.. I almost went with that day, but it's three days after my birthday and I didn't want my birthday, our anniversary and mother's day all in the same weekend every year.

  • My sisters wedding was fathers day weekend. Its fine! No one really cares that much!! ITs fine sweetie!
  • We are getting married that weekend too.  We were worried about the cost of flowers due to the holiday but we talked to a florist who has been in business for over 15 years and said the price doesn't fluctuate which shocked us! So I'm sure it'll be fine
  • Unless your fam is reeeeally into mothers day, I wouldn't worry about it. We're May 12 as well and no one in our close fam has said anything. We usually just grill out in the afternoon, and they can still do that since the weddings the day before. We also have talked about having a cookout for both families and whoever is left and doesn't have to rush home.

  • The positive feedback is appreciated.  I agree with you all!

I also think its a great way to honor our moms!  Mine - who does so much for us.  And my Fiance's - who died when he was young.

  • I would only worry about it if you have a lot of out of town guests.  I know if I was invited to a wedding on mother's day weekend and I had to travel a decent amount to get there I probably wouldn't go for the sheer fact that my mother would never forgive me for missing mother's day.  But if most people live close by I wouldn't worry about it at all.

  • Dang it mine is the 11th I didnt realize it either!  Maybe it would be a good idea to plan in a special something for all the moms who are there. I'm glad you asked because it went right over my head.

  • We are getting married that day as well, but Mother's Day is usually a holiday that people celebrate on the actual day, so i think just don't plan a morning after brunch or anything that goes into sunday and you should be fine.

Great way to save money as well!  Skip the morning after brunch!
