Puppy Update!

Thanks for your vibes yesterday ladies! I took Max in, and he let them fuss at and poke that skin tag on his paw. The vet's never seen anything like it, but it's most definitely a skin tag and not a tumor of any sort. Since it clearly bugs him enough that he licks and chews at it, they gave us some super antibiotic/steriod cream to (hopefully) heal it up. If that doesn't help, it'll have to come off via surgury. Blah. My poor puppy!

The good thing though, is that he was SO patient last night that the vet said she could do the urgury without putting him under general anesthesia. Seriously, I've never seen a dog stand there and let a vet poke at his paw until it bleeds, and he didn't even try to pull his paw away from her.

Anyhow, so it's hopefully nothing really serious, and with luck the cream will heal it up in the next week or two.

Somehow I missed the post yesterday about Max, but glad to hear it is nothing serious!

That is great that he is so well behaved for the vet ;-) Lots of vibes for no surgery for Max!!

Yay! That is great news. :)   It doesn't surprise me that Max didn't need anesthesia. I mean, after all... his Mom is the crazy lady who lets the deitist drill in her mouth without novacaine! Haha.

LOL Molly, good point! But he has a high pain tolerance, and I am just too vain to drool :P

Maybe Max is too vain to look like a stoned pup. :P

You're probably right about him also being too vain - I think he was far more upset that they shaved down his paw to get a good look than he was over the fact that they poked enough to make him bleed. Poor puppy and his lopsided buzz job!

I'm late to this, but that's great to hear! And for some reason, I didn't realize this name is Max- that was my one and only dog's name. He was such a good, patient dog as well- maybe it's the name. Wink
