Good news and bad news

Hi ladies!

Good news is, we made the 8 1/2 hour drive to Oregon.  The bad news...we got stood up by a caterer we were going to book on Saturday.  We had met with her previously when we were in town and LOVED her, we did a tasting and were convinced she was the one.  About a week ago, I e-mailed her to confirm our appointment, to which she replied "sounds great, I'll be there"  But she was nowhere to be found.  FI thinks I should give her a week before giving any bad reviews or contacting her, but I'm really annoyed.  What would you ladies do?

Re: Good news and bad news

  • Have you been able to reach her since you were stood up? Maybe a real emergency happened if she was that great before. However, if she continues to be MIA I would wait and cool down, then give a review. I'm sorry things didn't go as planned :(

Wow- thats awful customer service. At the very least, I would have expected her to call or e-mail you if she had to cancel.
I would contact her now and ask for an explanation. Maybe hold off on writing any bad reviews until you hear what she has to say- but if it were me, I'd be a bit worried about booking with her  :-/

  • I, since I work in Customer service, am very picky about people keeping their word. I'd look at it as a 'test run' for how things would go with her should you choose her and see that she doesn't respect your time.
How inconsiderate being you guys drove all that way, you poor things!
I'd stick with someone you know you can depend on :)

  • I agree with PP. Give her a chance to explain herself. Then if you are not satisfied then write a review. That is awful that you drive that far just to see her. I hope you had other things to do in oregon.

  • Thanks for the advice ladies! I ended up sending her an e-mail to which she replied that she had us down for the following weekend and asked if we could do it then.  I told her that was the reason that we drove all that way and that we wouldn't be there next weekend.  She wrote back and said that we could do the contract via, mail or fax.  I just wrote her today and told her that we would be going with someone else.
