Chairs and benches?

trying to think if this would look stupid because i cannot find any pictures anywhere.

wedding is all outdoor so it'll be along the lines of romantic garden. My centerpiece ideas below but perhaps with a deep purple linen.

For chairs, I would love to do chiavalri and my neighbor actually owns his own rental co. and offered us $3 off a chair..still $5 a dang chair though. SO, I am thinking doing 1/2 in chairs and others in a wood bench? table set up are long tables surronding dance floor so 1 side chairs, othr side bences.

Seeing If I should starting adjusting my budget for a damn chair! lol or if this idea is totally ridic!

Re: Chairs and benches?

  • Hmm I would stick to all one chair or the other esp when thinking about budget and having everything come together in sync. If you changed chairs and had covers would that be another less expensive option?

  • It sounds okay.. it would be hard for me to tell you yes or no, because I can't picture it! Do you have pictues of the venue set up like that, and the benches?

  • IDK if it would look good half and half...maybe just use the fancy chairs for your head table?  Or just for you and the FI?
  • Also, if you do benches, you should have some sort of cushion...those things are dang uncomfortable to sit on for long periods of time!  I also just thought of this...it's kind of awkward to climb over a bench in a dress.

nope just one of my whacky ideas :x
i think i have seen it somewhere and it looked so nice!

bences would be something like below but a bit darker with white covers. chairs would then be very close in matching with a white seat cover as well.

maybe i should just go with all bence and save some $$$ lol

oooo, good point. scratch it! LOL. it'd be 4 per table side so no thanks. i think as a guest i'd be annoyed if i had to climb over in a dress.

maybe i'll just use benches during the ceremony :)

I would stick with all chiars or all benches...
I think that both would work well, but those cairs ARE still expensive! --grr. Weathered washed benches would fit your theme really well...and I agree about the cushions...

But something else to consider: how many people are going to need back support? I know my parents and grandparents couldn't do a cushion bench b/c of the lack of back support...somthing to think about?

Maybe instead of those chairs you could use regular wood white (black, etc.) chairs...that would be easier on your budget, still look nice and supply back...just a thought. (that's what we are going for the ceremony)

p.s. NICE venue and I love the centerpiece pics!

    ...sorry I wasn't more helpful :(

  • instead of having benches for your ceremony and chairs for your reception could you use the same chairs for your ceremony AND reception? sometimes it costs a little extra in labor but you save in the long run because of the rentals.
I also agree with PP that wood chairs with padding are cute and usually less expensive than chiavari chairs. they'd also fit your theme nicely!
