Congrats Mona! Those are great checks! Just curious, what part of Connecticut are you getting married in? I'm getting married in Western MA, and I haven't looked too much, but haven't found hair and makeup yet... any suggestions?

Also, I did my marriage prep weekend about a month ago, and it was so great! We had an engagement ceremony/blessing during it that was so sweet and made me so excited for the marital ceremony!!!

Audreyjem- I'm using Dana Bartone & Co.  She and her team are very well-recommended and the makeup and hair artists will travel to you on your wedding day which I really wanted (keep in mind though that she requires at least 3 girls to travel- I just asked my bridesmaids and mom if they wanted hair/makeup done).  She is located in Cheshire, CT so the travel fee to go to Western Mass might be a little pricy.
Naomi Martinez is also a very popular choice in CT. She's in West Hartford- much closer to you.  (She's a little bit pricier than Dana Bartone- but since she's much closer to you, the cost will probably end up being the same or less)
And I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the marriage preparation! 

FutureMrsSheeler- We just got a good start to one of our registries. We're holding off on adding more or starting our Macy's one. We did it mostly because I've had people ask me for like 6 months now if I have a registry since they want to be able to get us stuff for birthdays, holidays, etc that we can use for our future home.  Plus FI and I will be moving in together soon, so I figured it was a good time.  I asked around to see which store discontinued their items less (BB&B won by a long shot) so that's the registry we did first.
 I think it's fine to get started on one as long as you check it once in a while to replace any discontinued items.  We probably won't be doing our other one until the Fall (the more "normal" time to do registries, lol).  It was nice to get it done though and now the people that want to get us things from a registry have the option to.

Sabrina- We actually registered at both Macy's and BBB before Christmas! FMIL bought us a few items off the registry for Christmas, as did my mother (but neither told Macys it was from a registry so no points, boo!) I got a Macy's cc and have registry rewards, which basically means I get 5% back when someone makes a registry purchase and 10% back when I shop at Macy's with the card... and all of the money back will be put on a macy's giftcard and given to us after the wedding to use for completion (or whatever we want). So, registering early means I get more money back, and like Mona said, when anyone asks what I would like for a gift for anything between now and then, I can say, check out my registries! The only downside, is you need to replace things as they go on clearance... at Macy's clearance basically means discontinued.

We did our registries already as well, they are on private so no one can search and find them. I wanted to do them early because I had so many things I wanted to add so I did it before I forgot them. So far nothing has been discontinued or anything and I did them about 4-5 months ago.
