I HATE being 2 hours away....

....from our wedding venue. Were in WV and our wedding is in Pittsburgh....with finances being the way they are right now and gas prices being so high we cant travel to meet anyone. Sadly since May is such a popular month for weddings I keep getting emails from vendors telling me that if I want to reserve my date I need to pay them their retainer ASAP but thanks to money situations right now I cant meet with them and I dont want to pay them if I havent even met with them.

Ughhhhhhhh its just so frustrating!

I feel your pain.. we are 4 and 1/2 hours away from ours. I haven't run into much trouble with communicating via email and phone though.

I was going to just write that! I am about 2.5 hours away from mine and email my coordinator a lot about decor and such.

can you meet them 1/2 way? 2 hours of total travel is better than 4. One of our vendors was willing to travel an hour to meet us, yours might too!

I feel your pain on being so far away! I'm living 4.5 hours away from where my wedding is right now and its hard but its doable!! I'd say just keep in touch with the vendors until you can get a chance to visit!

well thanks to vendor recommendations on the Pittsburgh Board I found quite a few vendors who I am willing to book without having a face to face meeting (like our ligthing tech and such) and my planner is doing a FANTASTIC job on finding other vendors...my biggest problem is the church....I have yet to meet with our Priest and because it is a catholic wedding we are required to meet with them *sigh* hopefully we will be able to go soon
