May 2012 Weddings

Just for fun POLL...

A post on another board got me to thinking about what my planner asked us to do. She wanted us to make a list of everything we wanted for the super deluxe wedding of our dreams.....

And then come back to reality and make a list that was more in tune with our budget.

So here's my question, if money was no object, what kind of wedding would you have?

I would fly my entire family (first-class of course) to Europe and get married in a real castle! We'd make a whole week of it.

This one is in the Bavarian Alps in Germany.

    Ooh good question, Lanetta!

Being the artsy dork that I am and because I absolutely love our trips to NYC, I'd love to have a wedding in either Central Park or at the Met and then a great party down at one of the hotspots for the reception...if at either I'd like to have a horsedrawn carriage bring me to the venue...

For the honeymoon, FIJI for like a month! LOL

Honestly, I'm pretty much getting the wedding of my dreams. Even if I had all the money in the world I wouldn't change too much because I don't want anything too extravagant.

The only thing I might change would be to pick up everything and everyone and move it all to Disney World and get married in front of Cinderella's Castle!  FI and I love Disney World and it has a special place in our heart <3

And I'd also take a longer and more extravagant honeymoon!

  • If our wedding could be anything, anywhere and $$ was not an object...
I'd want to get married at the Biltmore Estate in N.C.

And then for a honeymoon globe hopping to include:
Botswana, Ireland, England, Italy, Greece, Bali, Egypt, South Africa...should I keep going? lol. It would be like a 2 month honeymoon :)
    Anniversary
  • I would fly everyone to Santa Lucia del Mela, Sicily, my dad's beautiful place of birth! :)

Our honeymoon would be a few months long and we'd see every place we've ever wanted to go: France, Ireland, Germany, England, China, Japan, Egypt, South Africa, Fiji, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand...I'm sure I could think of lots more! lol
  • My FI is originally from NYC and I would get married in St Patrick's Cathedral, but ALL of my family is in VA so we chose to have our wedding there instead, but oh my lord this church is beautiful

And for our honeymoon we would take 2 months a visit the nicest places all over Europe.  Unfortunately, FI is in the military, we would never get 2 months off for that =[

  • If money was no object, I would fly my family and guests to the Isle of Capri in Italy and get married there. It is the most breath taking place I have ever been to, and very secluded.

  • I just had this discussion with FSIL this weekend!
We'd get married at the Chesterwood Estate when their hydrangea garden is in full bloom.

Then have a tented reception where the tent is all lit up so you felt like you were sitting under the stars. It would be something out of “Wedded to Perfection”

For our honeymoon we'd go on one of these National Geographic trips around the world

I've never wanted something too extravagate so I'm content with my wedding plans as is. More money would just help in terms of not having my savings read $0 after the wedding (lol). But reading through all of the comments so far... I would have to agree with the above post on the feel of her wedding, reception, and honeymoon! =o))
  • FI and I actually had this discussion. If money was no object, we'd get married on the beach, probably in the Outer Banks, and rent a huge beach house to throw a weeklong reception/party afterward. As for the honeymoon, two weeks in the Maldives. Definitely.
