XP: Help, I need a new idea for my centerpieces!

I posted this on the DIY board, but I'm hoping some of you wonderful ladies can help as well :)

Our wedding theme is peacock (but I would like to throw in a vintage twist).  Our colors are navy, avocado green, and purple (medium to dark purple...but I haven't decided which will look best).  My original idea was to recreate something like these:

For the second one, which is my favorite of the two, my plan was to replace the pomanders with off-white mini lanterns (with LED tea lights inside).  However, manzanita branches are super expensive, even wholesale from a site like bloomsandbranches.com.  We also decided on a different venue, and this one has 8 person rectangular banquet tables as opposed to rounds, so I don't think a tall centerpiece like this will work.

I know ladies on this board have amazing imaginations and creativity, so my question is: what else can I do that will incorporate peacock feather and/or lanterns, and maybe have a slight vintage feel?  I am open to any suggestions.  I want to make them myself, and I'm opting for non-floral in the hopes that I will save some money.

TIA!

I was at Michael's last week and didn't see any, and I also checked Walmart's floral section when I was there last night with the same results.  Manzanita branches are currently 30% at bloomsandbranches.com (which sells them the cheapest to begin with), so I might go with them.
  • That is an awesome idea!

Candles are always a nice option- you can add some peacock feathers yourself or get something like the pic below. Our tables are oval and we're alternating tall and short centerpieces. Maybe you can do half the tables with the tall manzanita branches if you'd still like to use them, and do the other half with short candles?

  • I love those first candles!  That's definitely a good idea, and definitely part of my plan.  I found manzanita branches for $4/each (including shipping), so we'll see if I should put them on all the tables or not.  If about 150 people attend, we'll need about 18 tables, so I think it might be a little much to have them at all of them.
