Texting: Appropriate? POLL

So, my brothers FI (some of you have heard me rant about her already) is totally not doing things the 'traditional' way...they're having a quickie wedding this July (switched from Feb of 2012) and are only having hor derves, no dinner...had a 'Non hosted" engagement dinner and had us all pay for our dinner...but that's besides the point..

When it came time to do BM dress shopping she just texted us all the info... keep in mind she's never once called....and then they decided to not have a wedding party...they ALSO sent that out via text to all those they asked stating "Sorry for the inconvenience but we're not having a bridal party anymore..."...now, her MOH is texting us asking if we'll be attending a Bachelorette for her or Shower..

Is it me or is Texting totally NOT appropriate in these situations?? What ever happened to a phone call...or even email...or face to face chat

Re: Texting: Appropriate? POLL

  • Call me whatever but I prefer to write letters/phone calls/ etc.

IF I have to communicate w/ more than one person I'll send an email. Texting is really... ionno... seems impersonal.

  • Inappropriate Totally.  She should have the decency to call or send formal invitations.  That just shows lack of propriety.

  • Texting is OK for certain things, but the situations you are describing warrant at least an e-mail.

  • I would say texting is ok for very MINOR things... like "hey, I found a florist" (which I sent to my MoHs this weekend), just to keep your buddies in the loop... but not to unask bridal party or pick dresses! Sorry you have to deal with that rudeness!

  • uhhhh can you say Rude!!!! I dont think texting is appropriate in the situations that you stated above... It's okay for quick FYI but to text saying that she wont be having a bridal party.... She atleast could have emailed you all....
