What do you think?!

So I'm considering using candles for centerpieces instead of all flowers to save moeny and I came across these on TK. Just wondering what you ladies think of them. I only want to do the tall candle holders not the smaller metallic ones. Do you think that they will be enough as centerpieces or should I add some more flowers to jazz it up a bit. Thanks Ladies :)

  • I think it will be pretty you could always fill some shorter globes with colored marbles or soemthing to reflect the light to fill some space if you needed to. Just be sure you can have candles at your reception location.

  • I loved that idea!  I keep considering doing this as well, but I'm having cadelabras on the other tables and my mom doesn't like the idea of the cadelabras and the candlesticks but I think that idea is absolutely beautiful!

  • I agree with PP--I think it's a great idea, such a good alternative to flowers! You may need something else to fill some space, but play around with it!
  • I think they look pretty great as is!

  • I think they look pretty as well. And yes, make sure you're allowed to have those, usually they need to be enclosed, not able to drop all over the table.

  • I'm not sure -- maybe we haven't shopped around enough, but the candlesticks add up VERY quickly to a lot more than our floral centerpieces.  The small ones at Hobby Lobby at 50% off were $8, med $10, large $12...so you're already at $30.  By the time you buy just the pillar candles you're at about $40-45 per table.  If you add in votives, you can bump that up to $45-50.  Add a few flowers and you're at around $50-55.

Our florist is doing our arrangements for $25.  We bought $5 scroll pillars to set the floral arrangement up on, and we'll surround that with $4 worth of votives.  Those are our expensive tables...

Just something to think about.  Just make sure it's cost effective to go this candle route versus flowers.  If you really do like flowers, price it out. :)

  • ikea has fat tall candles for about 3$ each! in white or ivory. Thats where we are getting the candles for our centerpieces! then we are putting them in shallow bowls filled with river pebbles. We are outdoorsy/hiker people so we wanted our wedding to reflect some the outdoors elements and thought the rocks and candles would do that well...and our centerpieces are only going to cost us about 6$ each and be beautiful! We are sill planing wiht the idea of putting a few gerbera daisys in the base...but i dont really like flowers to begin with so even the fact that i have to have a boquet to make my mom happy is kinda.....yeah ok fine but its not going to be "flowery" probably just some gerberas
