Our venue has 8' banquet tables, so my plan was to use one large centerpiece per table. In addition, each table will have two 7" cylinder vases with approximately 1" of river rocks and floating candles. They will flank each side of the centerpiece, like this (this is an aerial view of the table):

Our centerpieces (to refresh your memory):

The only thing I will be adding to the centerpieces is a peacock feather around the pot (horizontally), as per an awesome suggestion on this board.

Do I need votives as well, or can I just skip them? There will be at least a napkin, silverware, and a water glass at each place setting, and I don't want the table to be too crowded. I'm a "less is more" type of girl. TIA!
