Beauty: NAILS

So this might be the coolest invention ever for us ladies and our nails and I'm sure many of you have already heard of Shellac..I got SHELLAC'D last night!

I'm thinking this would be the ideal way to go for the Wedding Day, esp being that we're doing a DW and going to be away for 2 weeks.

It's a gel-polish and lasts 2 up to 3 weeks...better than acrylic and way better than polish Yay!

I haven't tried that yet.  But I always have my nails done.  I actually use KISS nails (the glue ons) I absolutely hate acrylics but can't do without pretty nails

klw0022 : any reviews on how they do in salt water? Will they get destroyed like acrylics? Trying to figure out the hooneymoon situation with nails...

I have got to try that. I get mine one but i just get the acrylics. I got them done today actually. I love getting mine done.

I get pink and white acrylic... My nail guy has a top coat that doesnt come off unless your buff your nail. I tried to soak off my nails yesterday and they wouldnt come off because of the top coat... I had to take my nail file to them to get the top coat to come off.... So I will def be getting pink and white... I got my done today too they are painting...

The last two occasions I've been to (Bachelorette Cruise and wedding of a friend) I had shellac/gel nails done.  Most normal nail polish stays on my fingernails for like, a day, and I can't have acrylic nails because I work in Healthcare. 

The gel/shellac nails last on my fingers for about a week, then either one nail chips or breaks (like this last time) and I just peel the rest of them off.

However, I do like how long-wearing they are.  I will probably have my nails done this way for the wedding next year.

I'm so jealous of all your pretty nails!! I'm not allowed to even wear nail polish to work (I'm a nurse), so having them done for the wedding is a must. I'll have to check this out because I can't stand how the acrylics destroy your fingernails when they get taken off!

<div>Yes! Shellac doesn't damage nails at all like acrylic...I was in the freshwater all day today on the boat and they did fine in the water!</div>

Nice! I love acrylics.. but they ruin my nails so much, that its not worth it for me!
