May 2012 Weddings

It matters to me....

Ok...so i got my wedding shoes in the mail today... took them outta the box..and i love them even more in person than i did in person.. put them on..they fit like a glove... however..
THEY ARE AN INCH TALLER THAN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!! ..so ill be taller than my FI at the wedding!!

I know its not a big deal..but if im usually shorter than him..will it be weird if like eye level with him???

Im fine with high high heels....so i can walk fine...plus i love them...i think if i have to return them ill literaly fall apart...:-(

(maybe my FI can wear platform dress shoes?) haha... JK!!  lol

Re: It matters to me....

  • it mattered to me too when we first met... FI is EXACTLY the same height as me. I got over it after a while ( I always wanted someone taller than me... oh well lol)

If you LOVE the shoe's I think you'll be fine, but if it really bothers you that much maybe look for a shorter pair?

I think you can get over either situation (being taller or new shoes) depending on how much it really means to you.

    Good luck!

  • Aww... I know how it goes with the height thing.  I'm actually slightly taller than my boyfriend flat-footed, so I have no idea what I'm going to wear!  In your situation, I think you're just fine to be eye-level.  The only person who is even going to really notice is probably you.  If you are comfortable and look comfortable with it, your guests won't even catch it.

  • Also... maybe wear them around him a little bit and see how it feels?

  • I have to wear them around a little bit anyways..i hardly ever wear heels ( im a teacher..and wearing heels for 10+ hours will call for a broken ankle) haha..so i need to get used to heels.
I think i will probably just suck it up..i love them way to much to pass up..lol

    Thanks ladies!
  • Aw no that is a bummer, I would wear them around inside for a while and see if you still like them, then if not you can return them.

  • Definitely try them out.. stand next to FI with them and see if you're comfortable. I used to have that problem with an ex... not anymore with my 6'4 FI :)
