Good Book??

Does anyone have any suggestions for some good reading material for the summer?? I'm a big reader, always have been but lately I've been in a funk when it comes to finding a good book. I've read quite a wide array of books from Harry Potter, Twilight series, Charles Dickens,  Dostoyevsky, Louisa May Alcott, Chelsea Handler, Betty White, Tori Spelling (OK so that last one might sound a bit strange but we all have our guilty pleasures) and I just can't seem to find anything worth reading. I love series and anything conspiracy theory related (Dan Brown is amazing at this). I'm currently reading Water for Elephants but will need some suggestions once I'm done with this one!

Thanks Ladies!!

  • You've mentioned a couple books about female comedians, what about Tina Fey's book "Bossypants"? I haven't read it, but it's on my list for this summer!

  • If you like Harry Potter, try the Percy Jackson series.  Kicks Potter butt, in my opinion. ;)
  • Lovely Bones was an amazing book! (if you saw the movie, disregard it it sucked!)  The Almost Noon, In Cold Blood, The Pact (or anything by Jodi Picoult for that matter) or anything by Chuck Palahniuk.

  • I also love the Southern Vampire Series (the books True Blood is based on). They're a fun, quick read. Think southern romance novels with action and supernatural creatures.

I just got done reading the Hunger Games series.  I devoured those books!  I've moved on to Something Borrowed, inspired by reviews of the movie saying how great the book is.  I'm enjoying it so far!

I've also been digging re-reading the classics.  I read Jane Eyre a few months ago and OMG it was so good!  I never fully appreciated the story having to read it in HS English.

I also love Dan Brown's stories, so I'll sit here patiently waiting for another conspiracy fiction recommendation...

Water for Elephants is an amazing book!  I also have been reading the books by Emily Giffin.  Her one book "Something Borrowed" is now a movie but I have read thre of her books now and can't put them down.b  Also I am a huge fan of the Sookie Stackhouse novels.  there are 11 of them so you will always have something to read. lol
