So my FI is currently stationed in Kuwait which is relatively safe given the situation.... Every so often his unit has to do convoy security from Kuwait into Iraq then back to Kuwait. He had to go North (going to Iraq) on Saturday morning and when I talked to him on Sunday night he said that the trip didn't go so well!
They were stuck on the road for 3 hours because route clearance found 6 IEDs along their route into Iraq!!! Up until this point I've never truly worried about his safety... I pray every day for his (and all our troops) safe return home but this hit me like a ton of bricks!!!! He has less than two months left before he gets to come home and I am so terrified that something horrible is going to happen to him or any of his buddies over there!
He had to leave again this morning to go North again and I have been a nervous wreck ever since! We don't get to talk while he's enroute so I probably won't get to talk to him until sometime tomorrow
I'm so proud of him and what he's doing for our Country but I hate that he has to do it (yes, I know he signed up for this!).
I just want to ask each of you to take a second out of your day to say alittle pray for my FI, all the guys of the 1-119FA, and all our troops serving our Country to come home to those that love them safely!!
