To veil or not to veil??

I was just curious how many of you May Ladies would be wearing a veil on your big day? I personally do not want one and think they look a bit silly but my sister is insistant that I wear a veil. In my opinion why waste the money!! Just wondering how everyone else felt!

Re: To veil or not to veil??

  • I will be wearing a hairpiece but no veil. I hate they way they look on my head lol.

If you're doing it to try to save some $$ its super easy to make them yourself.

  • i didnt want a veil due to budget..but im just wearing my sisters. i know michaels and jo-anns have DIY veils for about $10..
  • I am wearing a veil, but it is going to be my something borrowed. One of my best friends got married last month and I loved her veil. She offered it to me for me to wear on my big day. I am so excited about this!

  • I am wearing a pretty long veil but not anything over my face and I am only wearing it during the ceremony.  I will also have a little rhinestone clip in my hair.

I'm wearing an elbow length veil without a blusher for the ceremony and formal pictures.

  • I am stilll unsure if I will wear one or not. I know if I do it won't be a long one.
  • I'm pretty sure I'll wear a chapel length veil along with some sort of sparkly headpiece. The veil will disappear after the ceremony/pictures, leaving just the fun headpiece for the reception!
  • I'm most likely wearing a veil. Check ebay if you don't mind second-hand items. I just ordered one for $8 that is gorgeous!

  • I don't really like veils personally and wasn't planning on having one, but today when we went shopping my mom was insistant on me trying one on and went on about how she just loved it and wished I would wear it.  It was at Alfred Angelo and was only $19 + tax so I figured what the hell.  LOL

  • I am wearing a veil! And it will be covering my face when I walk down the aisle as well. I am totally traditional like that and I am so excited to be wearing one too! But I'm sure whatever you chose will look great! There are so many options out there, it is amazing!
  • I am wearing a veil.  It will be a cathedral length!  I looooove long veils, I think that they are absolutely beautiful!  I'm contemplating whether I want to get the blusher as well!  I'll probably wear some sparkly hair piece as well and the veils will come off for the reception!

  • I'm undecided for many of the same reasons... if I do have one, my mother is going to make it.  My father didn't like the idea of me just skipping it altogether, so, we'll see...

  • I'm wearing an elbow or finger tip length veil with a blusher. My father decided that one for me because he wants to lift it up. I'll have the blusher on as I walk down and then when my father gives me to FI, dad will lift it up, give some kisses and then it will stay up through the ceremony. I'm the only child.. which means only girl so I want to make it special for my parents as well! =o))

  • As of right now I think I'm going to make my veil unless I find one for super cheap.. Like less then 20$.. And I dont want an over the top veil. No blusher and probly elbow length one layer..

    NOT this

    Kind of this

  • I'm not doing a veil. I'll have a flower clip in my hair. (My dress is a one-strap w/flowers, so I want to add something to the other side, for some symmetry.)
  • Originally I wasn't going to wear a veil because I figured that it was too expensive to only be wearing for a short amount of time, but I was thinking that it really completes the look with my dress. I would wear it for the whole reception, it's not a long one it will be elbow length or shorter.

  • i dont like veils, but my dress is quite formal and my mom made a point about it being strapless and how being in a small baptist church, a veil might make it look a bit more traditional and "appropriate"....so IF i do...it will be my moms (cut up and redone) as my something old and/or something borrowed
