Ceremony Music

I'm very much not the traditional bride so I was thinking I don't want to walk down the asle to the Wedding March. Is anyone else doing this? I've been to a few weddings where this was done and it was really nice. I was just wondering if I was a little crazy for doing this. Anyone else have thoughts on this idea? If you are doing this what song will it be to?

Re: Ceremony Music

  • This is becoming increasingly more popular for the bride to walk down the aisle to a song of her and/or the grooms choice. A lot of brides on here are walking down the aisle to "Marry Me" by Train.

  • As long as the church will allow it, I hope to walk down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Marry Me" by Train. If the church does not allow it, I'll probably choose a classical piece, but not the Wedding March.

  • I am walking down to "Marry Me" by Train. FI picked it out.
  • I'm personally not a fan of the Wedding March, but I'll be walking down the aisle to another popular classical wedding song, Canon in D by Pachelbel

  • FI and I have talked about using some different music while I walk down the aisle and also for the recessional. We have talked about using two pieces from "last of the mohicans". Not sure if we will really do it or not.

I'm going pretty traditional here. The bridal party will walk into Canon in D. I'll be walking in to the Bridal Chorus by Wagner. And we'll exit the Church to the Wedding March.

  • We are doing the very tradtional songs for the ceremony. FI is very excited about it and I love it!

We are considering doing something similar to the JK Wedding Enterance video on YouTube.

  • I've never wanted to have traditional music either for the ceremony, so we've been back and forth on what song to choose. I'm still brainstorming, but I really want something unique.

We've been thinking of having my sister play a piano version (no lyrics) of "They Stood Up for Love" by Live. But we are getting married outside and I'm not sure how expensive it will be to get a keyboard to our venue and hooked up to sound. We love the song, so we may just have the DJ play this version:

Just a tiny bit nervous about the fact that the very first words of the song are "naked lovers" lol.

  • using a classical piece out of doctor who actually. believe its called gallifrey my childhood my home (something like that.....)
  • we keep going back and forth from wanting to do something crazy....like the dance entrance (youtube)...to some cheesy song...or an instrumental interlude off of the smashing pumkins cds. Either way it wont be the wedding march....we just have to decide how out there we want to be....

  • We're still talking about everything, but we're diggin' a techno remix version of Canon in D by Pachelbel by Ronald Jenkees, who is a local musician who does fun versions of different songs. You can check him out on Youtube :)
