Not sure what to do...

So, my FI and I just got an invite in the mail to his friend/former roommate Javier's sister's wedding.  Neither of us know her or her FI very well (I've only seen them twice, and only within the past few months...FI maybe a handful of times).  I know we were definitely on the B-list of guests, as the response card says to reply by April 7th (today is the 9th) and the stamped date on the outer envelope says yesterday.  I would never do this for our wedding, but as I'm only an acquaitence of hers at best, I'm really not offended.  I think it's nice that she thought of us (even if it was an afterthought), but I don't know whether we should go or not.  I love weddings, and I know there will be at least a few people we know there.  The ceremony is at 11 am (in town), and the reception starts @ 5 (an hour away), so we wouldn't have to reserve rooms or anything.  Just curious as to what you ladies thought about this situation...

Re: Not sure what to do...

  • Oh thats a tough call. I would say if you think you and FI can go and have a great time then why not go and wish them well. If you'll feel out of place and not enjoy it then send her a card saying congrats and wish them the best and skip the affair

  • I wouldn't go. To me it kind of feels likes she's trying to fill a guest # quota instead of inviting close people...chances are if you aren't close with the B&G and/or don't know anyone going you're probably not going to have that good of a time. Unless you are looking for inspiration, I would skip...but that's just me. :)

</div><div>Based on what you said it sounds like you are not offended by the last minute invite, you and your FI would have a good time at the wedding, and you would see some people you know, if I was you, I would go.
