**Sabrina**

Do you have any pics of the silks you bought at Michael's? I'm seriously considering them (I want to use some hydrangeas as well), but I'm concerned about the quality. Thanks!

Re: **Sabrina**

  • If either of you go this route, can you please let me know as well? I *think* I'm highly considering silk, well I guess I should rephrase, I ordered a sample of the real touch lilies to check them out. I'm nervous about the silk though, I'd love to have hydrangeas, but can't find real touch hydrangeas.

  • I will take a picture tomorrow. The hydrangeas I bought were the Ashland signature ones. They're very full, and very realistic, I love them! I also bought my BM bouquets form afloral.com and they are great quality too.. so that is another place to look!

  • I just bought 12 real touch calla lilies from afloral...with shipping they came out to $2.17 each, which is awesome for a boutonniere!

How do the petals feel? I went to Michaels, I didn't look at the brand unfortunately, but they seemed very stiff, they did have quite a few varities, but I didn't feel them all. Were the prices reasonable? I'd love to mix in some hydrangeas since those were my initiial flowers, but I want as close to the real feel and touch if possible.

Also, do either of you plan on buying a floral scent to spray on them? My MOH suggested this, I saw one I believe on afloral, but it was rose scent, I'm not doing any roses, not that anyone would notice

  • I got a cream and purple calla lily one from them, because I wanted my bouquet to look like the one on my bio on TK, but it was more of a burgundy purple, and wasn't what I wanted, but they look great, so I think you girls will like yours!

  • Sabrina, love your bio...you are so organized. I seriously need to sit down and write out my projects. I've started about 3 different things and haven't finished a one :)

They aren't real touch.. so they don't feel like that kind. The ones I bought are just so full and realistic looking to me. And the flowers aren't all the same color, they have dimension which makes them look real too.

  • I think hydrangea stems are about $5 each for real ones, and the prices at Michael's were about $5-7 each (I was there yesterday). They were buy one get one free, but I just didn't think it was worth it (for me...I know Sabrina is allergic to flowers). For that price, I'll probably get the real ones, although they are known to be heat sensitive. Our ceremony and reception are going to be indoors, though, so I'm not too worried about it.
