How do i choose?

I have about 5 videographers same price..and offer the same stuff.... how do i choose between them??

I am also considering using wedit (wedit.com)...for only $700..and i have 5 guests shoot the wedding ( i contacted the wedit team and they have great quality cameras), and the guests i would have shoot it said they would love to help me.
--Plus..this is really candid and unique, which is what i want my wedding to be!!

But i am still looking around, and i found other videographers for $800-$1000 which i know is cheap for one!! How do i choose!!???

Re: How do i choose?

  • You're going to be with these people all day so meet with them and see who you click with the most. Nothing worse than spending the day with vendors you dislike or don't mesh with.
  • I say pick who you feel get what vision and also which one did you connect with right off... Good Luck....

  • I'm thinking about buying 2 or 3 Slide HD video cameras (store.theflip.com) and having a few friends do the filming.  They retail for about $200-230 each (depending on where you get them), and hold 4 hrs worth of video.  I'm not looking for anything professional, but I think it would be nice to have video.  I also think it will be fun editing the video later and having a viewing party with our families. :)

Our photographer already cost almost $2K, which is more than I originally wanted to spend.  I can't afford to spend another grand for someone to shoot the video.

Bonus:  I can resell the extra cameras after the wedding and reclaim some $!

I don't mean to hijack, but I have a comment about this.

I sell electronics as my job right now. This is not a camera I would recommend. You're better off going with 1 or 2 "better" Sony cameras. The other Flip cameras are fine if that's the route you want to go, but the Slide is known to be glitchy and their customer service is pretty awful.

Another really good pocket camera option is the Kodak Zi8, it's a little less expensive and you can put as much memory in it as you want, since it doens't come with embedded memory. The other nice thing is that if you do want to sell it, you will still have the original files on the SD cards. WIth the Flip cameras, you'll lose the raw footage if you resell them.

Thanks!  I actually just looked up some reviews on the Slide, and they weren't good.  I'll look into some other options for sure.
