AW: Reception Dress Options

So as I mentioned in the good morning post, I had a fun reception dress shopping appointment this weekend.  I'm posting pictures below of my three faves- which one do you like the best?  I found the first two online, and couldn't find the third anywhere so you have to see it on me :)  Click through for bigger pictures.

(Note about the third- they had it in the store in red, but I can have it made in another color.  I'm leaning towards a pale ice blue or perhaps ivory.)

OOO so pretty. I love the 2nd and the third dress.  I agree, the third dress would be very pretty in an icy blue or ivory.

Great choices!  Keep us posted on your final decision!Smile

I love, love, LOVE the 3rd dress.  It look so great on you - and you can pull off the red, too!

Keep us updated - I'm excited to see which one you go with!  I've never known someone (other than on the bridal shows on WE) to have an actual different reception dress so this is pretty exciting! :)

I like dress number 2, but 1 and 2 are very similar. I love the top of 3, I wonder if it would be as stunning in a muted color tho

    LOL, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing ;)

Sara, I was sort of wondering the same thing, but I also think that I want to have the dress be paler so it still feels a little bridal- like how everyone can tell who the bride is in pictures because she's the only one in white.

    Thanks for the feedback, ladies!

I like the first and third ones.  I think the 3rd one would look great in ice blue.  Where did you find the dresses?  The top one looks like a white house/black market dress (which I LOVE)!

Ooh, fail on my end. I thought it was for the rehearsal dinner. For reception, I vote #2. :)  Purty!

The dresses are very pretty but I honestly think that you should just wear your dress the entire day.  Some people might come to the reception that didn't go to the wedding and they won't get to see your dress.  I am wearing my dress all day because I love it so much and am not going to want to take it off.  You can wear a dress like the ones you have pictures any time but you can only wear your wedding gown on your wedding day.  GL! I like 2 and 3 (in a pale color).  Pretty options!

Will you do all of your reception stuff in your wedding gown (1st dance, cake, etc.) and then change for dancing?  Or are you planning on changing right when you arrive from the ceremony?

Heather, they're all from Neiman Marcus- first and second are Lela Rose, last one is Carmen Marc Valvo.

I'm planning to wear my gown through dinner and cake cutting, and just changing into the shorter dress at like 9:30 PM for the dancing portion of the evening.

3rd one for the drama of the silhouette. I think #1 and #2 are too similar in texture to your actual wedding gown. Also, the sleeveless tank style just doesn't seem formal enough for me for your reception venue (JMO, might look different in person). I think the strapless looks more formal and is different enough from the ceremony dress to be a "wow" factor.

Not that you need any more opinions, but I'm loving the 3rd one! My least favorite is the first one b/c it just doesn't seem "bridal" enough for me. Good luck deciding- great picks!
