Make-up pricing questions!

I couldn't find anything covering this already, so thought I'd ask!

I've contacted several make up artists in the PGH area, and  I'm getting quotes for make up (including trial) between $250-350 (for people that travel to my location - I'm open to other options but it doesn't seem to decrease the price that much!)

This seems kinda pricy to me. What are you girls paying? We're having a very small wedding, and I'm really contemplating doing my own make up (with the help of my sister). I'd like to go the professional route, but at $300 I just don't know...I need some convincing!!

    Are you looking for airbrush? If so, those prices aren't that outrageous. If you aren't looking for airbrush, I think those prices are way high.

    Yeah that isn't for the entire bridal party, just me ($100 for every other person). And it is not airbrush...

    I am having the same issue! I have already contacted Claire and a few others recommended here, and they are already booked for my Oct. 20 wedding. The two I have found that are available run about $300 just for me. Let me know if you hear of anyone else.

    I am considering just buying some high quality make up and doing it myself. That seems like too much money for one person. Do any of your bridesmaids feel comfortable doing your makeup?

    Try Jessica Tyler, she's on the recommended list. We are using her, she's way awesome.

    I tried Jessica, but she moved to the State College area. She did provide a recommendation though, who I am looking into.

    I used Haley Mason for my make-up.  She did a fabulous job. She was super quick & also came to the hotel whereI was getting  ready.  My make-up looked   GORGEOUS the whole day & it even still lookedgreat when we were at the hotel bar after the reception.  Just an fyi she uses mineral make-up. I found her prices to be reasonable & they were definitely less than $250-$300 for both trial & day of make-up.

    She also did my mother's make-up as well as 2 of my wedding party.  They all also really liked their make-up too.  I would definitely recommend seeing if she is available
