East coast humidity and hair problems

Spring has arrived on the east coast, so that means humidity is back! I dont know about all of you but my hair turns into a wreck whenever I go outside. Today is mild in NY but not overly humid but now my hair looks like a frizzy, disgusting, stringy mess. What do you guys do to keep your hair in check?

Ideally I'd like my hair to look how it looks after Ive blown and straightened it. It is thick, about boob length and straight. Thats how it was when I left the house but once it hits the air outside boom el disgustingo! Now im sitting on the train and people are commenting bc it looks like I havent washed my hair in months!

Curling isnt an option. It doesnt curl. Even the salons cant get it to curl which presents a challenge for my wedding day but we'll see what kind of magic they can create. I suppose I CAN put it in a ponytail or something but I look very young as it is so it's hard sonetimes when I go on business meetings for people to take me seriously at first. Having my hair up makes me look like a child.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep my hair looking straight in the humidity? Oy I am so embarrased right now.

Have you ever tried a Keratin treatment?  Not the keratin shampoo and products, but actually going to the salon and having them do it (it is like an hour long process and lasts for a few months).  They have an organic version that I get done, and it works great on my hair.  You can usually find groupons for it (I am in NYC and use groupons or a site called lifebooker), and you can get it for around $100.  I have frizzy hair too and I can literally walk out of the shower, comb it, and it will dry straight.  It is amazing

This.  I am also excited because my hair will no longer be a crazy static mess from it being so dang dry in the winter.

You need good product in your hair.  If it won't curl I would use Aveda's straightening serum.

I have no advise for dealing with frizzy hair but for hair that won't curl, use starch. Redkins makes a spray starch and that is the only way my hair will stay curled.

I like John Frieda's frizz ease - it isn't greasy and really does work. But my hair loves the humidity - that's when my curls come out! My hair is so flat when there's no humidity.

ETA: I don't personally know a product that will keep hair straight in humidity. I'd suggest getting a good brand of serum or something from Target. Look at their salon care section and you'll find a bunch of different things. I know I've seen something about straight hair in that section.

I'm jealous of those of you who get pretty, curly hair when it's humid. My hair is so fine and thin, it falls flat when there's a lot of moisture. It looks like its glued to my head and almost looks slimy.

Frederic Fekkai glossing leave in conditioner..... it looks like lotion... it smells good too... it seriously helps me.  AND, in a pinch Victoria's Secret (yep I know) smoothing "serum" i think....

I have straight hair that basically does nothing, but I use BioSilk Silk Therapy. It makes my hair smooth, less frizzy, and helps control the static. It's a bit pricey for a small bottle, but a little goes a long way. It also smells great.

I second the keratin!! It will work wonders on your hair in the humidity. There is also several keratin treaments you can do at home, each time you wash, my favorite one is by chi.

Same here.  We had some warm, more humid days this week and my hair was loving it.  My hair is always curly, but it lies much more flat in the winter, so I'm looking forward to some humid weather to bring the bounce back.
