Beauty products you swear by

I love trying new products and am wondering what you guys use and love?

I'm obsessed with Sephora and any line they carry. I splurged so much there last year that I'm a "Beauty VIP" this year which gets me 15% off of most of my orders, free shipping, and extra samples. It's pretty ballin'.

My favorite products:

Clinique exfoliating scrub - I just got it last week and it's cleared up my skin ENTIRELY. I had small bumps here and there and they're all gone. I'm amazed. Plus, it makes your skin feel all nice and tingly afterward.

NARS lipstick in Schiap - I swear, it looks good on almost everyone.

And I love any/all liquid eyeliners. There's one full-size liner that came in a Birch Box maybe 6 months ago that I'm totally obsessed with and has lasted me this long. I don't remember the brand, though.

  • I love MAC products!  I shop Sephora every now and then because I do like Urban Decay and NARS.

  • Honestly I walked into Sephora once and walked right out because I couldn't afford anything. I swear by Neutrogena.

I like Advanced Solutions for acne prone skin and I liked Acne-Stress cleanser for daily washing. I only exfoliate once a week or so and that's also Neutrogena.

For moisturizers I use Clean 'n Clear dual moisturizer and I use Alpha Hydrox moisturizer at night.

Makeups I typically use just maybelline

    This Neurtrogena powder:

It has replaced the MU4E setting powder I spent 3x as much on and works better.

    Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation:

Love every single thing about it. Evens my skin tone, lasts all day, through sweat and tears and rubbing, and doesn't clog my pores.

And of course, I use a primer:

This stuff, OMG. If you have large pores like I do (thanks dad!) then you have to try this stuff! I never thought I would be able to immediately tell a difference using a product, but part of the fun of putting this on every morning is seeing one side of my face look dramatically different than the other, like in the infomercials.

Also, I've been using this in my hair:

So far, no frizzy humidty hair and it makes my hair super soft and smells so yummy. I love it! And it's a spray, so no getting my hands all icky putting it in.

I love the Mary Kay Satin Lips set- Mask and Balm.
It's great for getting the dried skin off of your lips and then moisturizing so that the dried skin doesn't come back.

The MK Ultimate Mascara makes my lashes look like I am wearing falsies!

The MK Apricot Twist Cream eye shadow is great too, flattering on just about everyone and can be dressed up or down.

I just bought the Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer and I just love it!  It is great to use to add radiant highlights to any are you want to draw attention to, or mix in with your foundation for an all-over, semi-dewey glowy look.

I also love Stila and Sephora Brand eye shadows.

I'm looking for a better powder to use so I don't look quite so powdery at times- probably user error- and a better primer/foundation to mask my rosacea better as well.  I may go into Sephora and pick their brains next week. . . after pay day, ha!

  • I've only been using it for the past three months but I love Urban Decay's eye shadow primer.  I don't know how I lived without it before.

  • I'm pretty simple:

I use the same Tarte foundation Aud uses.

I use the Smashbox Master Class Palette for basically everything else.

I just got a tired eye reviver in my Birchbox this month from Simple, and that did wonders this morning.

And I love Mox Botanicals lip balm.

  • I absolutely love Oil of Olay daily moisturizer.  I have used it as long as I can remember.  It keeps my face soft, acne free, and doesn't leave it feeling oily.

As for makeup, I used Cover Girl for the longest time but recently switched to Neutrogena and absolutely love their products.  They just feel lighter on my face.

  • I'm a fairly au naturel person, and tend towards Burt's Bees for a facewash, or I just use water and a washcloth. For moisturizers, I buy from an organic supplier on ETSY—Honeybee Holistics. She makes a mean marshmallow honey face cream. Frugally Sustainable on ETSY also makes a great Green Goddess face salve that I use at night. Love them both! As for what I can't live without: medicated chapstick.

  • I love Sephora and have $100 in gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. I want to try Benefit's Dr. Feelgood so see if it helps mattify my skin.

To be honest, I don't "swear" by anything, I'ms till shopping around for facial cleansers, moisturizers, foundations and concealers. I try a new brand each time to see what I like best.

Honestly, for everyday wear, I love the waterproop maybelline pink bottle mascara. I LOVE it!

  • My only MUST is this foundation. I've tried so many to cover up my unevenness, and this is just the best. I have awful skin, and this makes me look normal!
I typically love experimenting with different products. I'm excited to start trying all these suggestions!

I don't usually wear make up. When I have the money I get Clinique's moisturizer (I forget what it's called) but when I don't I get Aveeno. I do a sugar and olive oil scrub every other day - it keeps my skin looking good. I usually wear Physician's Formula for foundation when I do wear it because it has higher SPFs than any other make up I've found. And I have really sensitive skin, so it works well.

ETA: When I get acne, I use my at-home laser hair remover on it on the lowest setting. The next day, the zits are either gone or a lot smaller.
  • Purity by philosophy is my go to, that and Photofinish foundation primer by Smashbox!

  • Philosophy - Purity Made SImple face wash.  I LOVE this product and it's the only face wash I use now.  Plus I no longer need makeup remover.

Philosophy - Hope in a Jar   I tend to have very dry skin at some times of the year and very oily skin other times.  Now I use this product year round and it gives me the perfect amount of moisturizer.  And it's not greasy.  It just soaks right in.  I put it on, brush my teeth and my face is dry and feels butter smooth.

Is that the No-No?  I wanted to try that.

Ok, how about self- tanning lotions, ladies?  Which do you like best, which don't turn you orange?  I forget which one I am using right now- it's not Olay or Jergens- and I like it, but I don't think it will let me go as dark as I want.

Mind you I don't want to look like that lady who was addicted to tanning, but just a little darker as the summer goes along.

I get oily during the day, and by day I mean like 2 hours afterwards and it "claims" to keep your skin matte and I want to see if it's lying or not.

I mean, it's been around for a while and it has pretty good reviews so I figure it's worth a shot

  • OH I forgot something. My derm recommended it a few years ago, and it's kind of expensive but LORDY is it worth it for the pale ladies (shoutout).
I wear it under my primer, and it is the best sunscreen I've found to go under makeup. If I'm not wearing makeup I will just wear Aveeno face sunscreen, but if I need something to compliment my makeup and not get all gross, it's this stuff hands down.

As for the fake tan - I use Jergens and I love it. I don't mind being mostly pale, but Jergens does enough to make me not see-through anymore. Because I don't like being translucent.
  • I am a big fan of  Mac Studiofix powder.  It's amazing, and doesn't aggravate my skin as much as other powders.

<div>I have that issue too! I thought it was just something I would always have to deal with until I found Tarte. The Amazonian clay in the make up absorbs oil all day long and keeps it from pooling on your face and making your make up run away. I love it so so so much. </div>

  • Glamglow super mud clearing treatment as a mask - SUPER expensive but it has stopped me breaking out quite a bit and helped even out my skin tone.

Perfect 10 hair spray before blow drying - keeps it shiny and protects it from heat!

I don't wear make up often but when I do, Laura Mercier and/or Bare Minerals are the only two foundations I have found that don't break me out!
