JenJenHouse for Bridesmaids?

I found the JenJenHouse website and want to have my bridesmaids choose their dresses from their site.  I have done a little research and have found mixed reviews.  Some people love their dresses, some hate them.  Any advice?  Are there other websites with a better reputation we could order from?  Thanks!

Re: JenJenHouse for Bridesmaids?

  • Chinese knockoff site.

I googled them a bunch since I was looking at ordering my gown from them.

They pull down negative reviews to leave only positive ones; and there's some speculation that the positive reviews are planted or not genuine.

I'd avoid them personally because the potential grief outweighs the cost.
  • That is a knockoff site.  What dress were you interested in and we should be able to help you find the actual designer and possibly where to find it.

  • My bridesmaids are all wearing a different style in the same fabric.  I am fine with knockoffs, I just want affordable prices and multiple style options in the same fabric.  I don't think we even have a problem with non professional/machine stitching as long as the dress looks nice when its on.

I noticed that they do have some bad reviews but far more good reviews than bad.  I would believe that they could possibly be taking bad reviews but there are soo many good ones I don't think they could be fake... thoughts?

Posted by Morgenlstar The reviews are usually fake. The vendors set up accounts here, on weddingbee and all over the internet to rave about their fabulous dress. And most of the bad ones are removed by the knockoff site. Seriously, don't waste your money. Call pearls place in LA. They are a real store, but they discount designer gowns. Ps. Its not just bad stitching. It's like, WRONG stitching. Different color threading. Sizes all mishapen. Horrible quality fabric. If you go this route, make sure you set aside cash so you are prepared to pay for replacement gowns.

There was a story on the Today show not that long ago about these knock-off sites.  They focused on the prom dresses, but seeing as they come from the same knock-off sites, the crappy craftmanship will be the same.  They featured this one girl who bought her dress off of one of these sites and not only was it the wrong color, the stiching was horrible, like the seam that should be hidden on the inside of the dress was on the outside of the dress and some of the layers weren't even stiched together causing fraying.  This girl also recieved a bag of beads, sequins and other embellishment that was supposed to be sewn onto the bust of her dress.  Instead they gave her the loose embellishments and then expected her to sew them on herself.

Do you really want to take the chance on these sites, where you really have no way of getting your money back if you are not happy with the outcome?  Look in department stores, DB, or other bridal stores.  You will be surprised what you can find at a reasonable cost.

ETA:  you still didn't answer my first question.  What dress/dresses were you interested in?  We can help you find something similar in whatever price range you are needing, or atleast point you in a good direction.

  • My future dil used a different site, through an Etsy seller, but one that turned out to be located in Hong Kong.

We are currently waiting for the bridesmaid dresses to arrive; they are late. The wedding is 4 weeks from tomorrow!

I am wishing that the dresses were being made in the USA. I am wishing they were not having to be shipped from Hong Kong. It's making me a bit nervous.

I am hoping that the dresses turn out well and fit well.
