ALL WHITE WEDGES ARE UGLY - outdoor wedding

I am having an outdoor wedding and the ceremony is on the grass. I have been looking for a pair of wedges that are not terribly ugly (open toes since the wedding is in July) and cant find anything in white that is cute but still classy... not a back yard picnic or stripper attire...

has anyone tried those Shoemates? they go on the end of heels so you dont sink into the ground.  Do they work or am I stuck with matronly shoes???

I used solemates, and they do work well.  But, I think they work well for a short ceremony. I don't know if they would really work that well if your entire reception is on the grass.

I saw on pinterest where they put down stepping stones for the bridesmaids to stand on so there heels wont sink in.  Very cute idea.  My bridesmaids are buying these I think, they are all wearing them for the rehearsal dinner also to see how well they work.

FWIW, Solemates didn't work well in an outdoor wedding I was in. Everyone still sunk into the dirt. Wedges are sooo much more comfortable.

I don't think either of these are matronly. Granted, I'm 29 so I may be an old hag compared to you...

Are you wearing a long dress?  If so, then I wouldn't concern yourself too much over what the shoes look like because no one will see them.

FWIW I bought a pair of white foam wedges from VS that were super comfortable.  They weren't pretty to look at but then again my dress was long and the only time anyone saw them was when I picked my dress up which was very rare.  I had cutesy ceremony shoes but after an hour in them I wanted to rip my feet off.

So go for comfort first and style second, especially since you will be outside in them.

Also... you don't have to limit yourself to white.  Lots of brides wear bright shoes.  Sometimes to match your BMs dresses or other accent color.  My shoes were a deep wine color with bling.

Im not sure what your budget is but you if you can splurge or are able to spend $500+ of a pair of shoes than you have many many options.

I dont know your shoe size, and it seems like white isnt an available color for most sizes, but its an option if you look on EBAY etc.

Well, I know I am having the same issue.  I found "heel protectors" on ebay.  They are clear little things that fit on the tip of the heel and have a clear disk to help you not sink... I have NO IDEA if this will really work... but I will give it a try...
