NEED Bridesmaid Dress ADVICE

So, I bought my dress a few weeks ago....Maggie Sottero, Afton http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=32603&page=0&pageSize=36&keywordText=&keywordType=All

My wedding is in August, in Georgia, in which it will be very hot, but everything is indoors. I'm having trouble finding bridesmaid dresses. I kind of got a wintery wedding dress, but I wanted something with shoulders and fell in love with this one. Wedding is on a Saturday morning around 11 am.

What type of fabric would be best for my bridesmaids to wear that would compliment my dress? I have there color picked as a navy blue/midnight blue and I have only 4 bridesmaids. Looking towards cocktail length dresses sitting right above the knee.

Here is the one I am considering: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/d516/#.UWwzs9PD-M8

Does anyone think that this dress will compliment mine or look good next to each other?

Re: NEED Bridesmaid Dress ADVICE

  • First of all, your dress is GORGEOUS!  Congrats!  The top and draping are absolutely stunning.

I think that BM dress will compliment yours well - the neckline somewhat mimics the neckline of your dress, and their isn't a lot of embellishment that could potentially clash or compete with the details on your dress. It's also a classic sheath that your girls will probably be able to wear again.

I also really like dupioni silk, and think it is a pretty, classic fabric.
  • Your dress is gorgeoussss! I also dig the bridesmaid dress you're considering. I think it has timeless look to it and could totally be dressed up or toned down for your girls to wear again. Great selections on your part!

  • Thanks for your help!

I've also looked at flower girl dresses for my fiancés little sister. I feel like this one pulls everything together in the midnight trim...

Also, the reason I like the dresses for the girls is because I'm hoping they will feel like they can wear them again. Same reason I'm looking at suits for the guys so they can get some use out of them, such as these....

I know what I like I'm just worried that everything may not look good together....I'm not the best at matching things perfectly, but I'm trying to make everything as simple as possible while still trying to maintain a good look.
  • Thanks for making me feel more confident about my choices Smile Guess I don't need to worry as much as I was.
