When to take photos?

I'm torn...I don't want my fiance to see me that day until I'm walking down the aisle to him, however I'm not a huge fan of taking photos after the ceremony/before the reception as I'd hate to keep people waiting and I'd rather spend that time enjoying a glass of champange with my wedding party on our way to the reception.

What are most couples doing these days as far as taking couple/wedding party photos?

</div><div>We did a first look and loved it.  We shared that moment together privately and then got most of our photos out of the way.  It also eased the nerves of walking down the aisle but still didn't take away any of the excitement either.  We were then able to enjoy most of the cocktail hour.  Loved doing it this way!

  • The newest trend is taking the pics. before the wedding, but if you don't want to do that.
After the wedding is over have the preacher to tell your guest where to go.
Have the wedding party when exiting the wedding have someone direct them to a room.  After everyone has left the ceremony area.  Direct them back in to the ceremony area.
Have a list for the photographer of what pictures you want taken. Bride & Groom in every picture, then brides parents, brides family, brides grandparents names, etc.
Same with Groom,  Then they can leave and go visit with guest.  Next have bride  & groom with bridesmaids then with groomsman, then entire party.  Bridesmaids can leave next Bride and groom with groomsman.
Have Brides family sit on left side and grooms on right side.  That way the photographer can call their names and they can get up easily and take the picture.  Try to add people so people want be haveing to get down then get back up for another picture.
The pictures will only take a few minutes.
After dinner and cutting of the cake and the first dances.   The photographer can take you and the groom aside and take pictures of you and the groom by yourselfs without any distractions and you wnat be gone long so if you slip out you want be missed.
