Wedding Woes

AW - my project today

I found this fabric for a pretty good price last week and decided to make little dresses.  I'm not crazy about this fabric pattern as a dress by itself (maybe I'll add some navy blue embellishments or something) so they can play dress up with these.

  • Good job. I can barely sew on a button, so I'm always impressed with sewing abilities. I would raise the straps a bit though.

Very cute, but agree about the straps.
  • Yes, the straps are too long.  I will have to fix them (thinking about crossing them in the back) when they take the dresses off.  DD1 was begging me to let her wear it as soon as I got it finished.

This was a good introduction to elastic.  I had never used it before and thought it would be horrible, but it wasn't too bad.
  • they're cute. agree on the straps.

maybe add some navy embellishments at the bottom or waist?

do you always dress the girls to match? i noticed that in a lot of FB pics too.
  • Very cute, I think criss crossing the straps would be perfect.

I need to get my sewing machine set up, I still need to make Bean's crib skirt and I'd like to make her some simple dresses and try my hand at some diaper covers. I'd likely need some Mom help for the diaper covers, just to make sure I don't screw them up, but still want to try my hand at them.
  • I match them a lot, not everyday, but a lot.  I know those days are numbered, as I've had to start shopping in the girls section for DD1 since xmas, and usually those sizes don't have things that are similar to the toddler stuff.

I swear, DD1 likes it.  She asks to wear certain things and makes sure DD2 wears the matching piece.
