i bet you there are lots of weddings at that venue, all around the same time as yours.  Your wedding will be special to you b/c it's yours...to everyone else, it will probably be the same as the other wedding we've been to.  Let that go.  You get one day, that's it.

Don't give any suggestions to planning advice requests, just change the subject and tell her that you believe you'll be too busy to be her bridesmaid.  Voila, problem solved.

Sometimes I wonder about people.  Do you really need specialty advice for this?

you should ask to be a bridesmaid.  then, on the wedding day, show up in your wedding dress instead of the bridesmaid's dress.
