Wedding Woes

runners/walkers/outdoor people

What do you do with your keys?  I'm still trying to come up with a playground solution and thought maybe you ladies would know a product.

Or maybe I need to invent something and make a million.

growing up, I always just took one key (not on a ring) and duct-taped to the inside sole of my shoe.

(I know big sis, who runs a lot, has a holder-thingy for her MP3 player and slides the lone key into that)

I usually just make sure I wear pants with pockets and shove my keys in one pocket, my phone in the other.  I look like I need a tool belt.  I'd also love to see some tips.

The key in the shoe thing doesn't work when you have one of these. :)

The key in the shoe won't work.  Pockets are ok, but sometimes I don't have them and some shorts they fall out of.

I was thinking something like this maybe?
  • Spibelts are oft loved I don't think you can go wrong.

  • We bought one of the (stupidly expensive though they work great) pockets that can attach to our shoelaces.  It's big enough for a key and a couple of bucks.

There are also wrist cuffs that are big enough for key, money and IDs, here's an example:  http://www.thecolorrunstore.com/gear/stuff-cuff.html.

I really hate anything strapped around my waist b/c it makes me feel encumbered. Unless I have my camelbak on, then I just suck it up.
  • Because hate things around my waist, wrist when I'm running I loop my key ring around my bra strap.

Aren't you still bringing a diaper bag because of M3? I think all of mine had a little carabiner (sp?) to put keys on.

  • I use this when I travel for money and keys. I like that you can wear around your neck and hide under clothes.

  • I just got one of these - http://flipbelt.com/

It works pretty good - I think I should have ordered a smaller size though so it has a little less movement (right now it slides a little from my hips to my waist). I love that I can still fit my giant phone in it when running and there isn't a huge amount of jostling around from the items in the belt.

I leave the diaper bag in the car and only car my keys onto the playground.  I thought about the neck thing, but my luck I'd strangle myself.  I forgot the ergo has a pocket, but then I won't always have that.

I like the shoe idea, but sometimes I wear sandals.  I'm used to wearing belts so that's why I thought the spibelt.

Ha. Then you're going to end up on that show 1000 Ways to Die.

  • I clip my key to a carabiner, then clip that to my bra strap. It usually stays put, but on the rare occasion it doesn't, I slide it down the strap and tuck it into my bra. Not as annoying as you'd think!

I have an extra car key (the kind without the remote entry) and a small thing of pepper spray on one of those wrist coil key chains and use those when I run.  I lock my purse and regular set of keys in the back - I have a cargo cover so it can't be seen.
