Wedding Woes

I want to jump from a roof!!!!!!!!

WITH HAPPINESS!!!!!! LOL  I've been so stressed!!!! things just seemed like they werent coming together... 2 days ago I though I wasnt going to ever find a venue everyone wanted an arm and a leg but today I FOUND MY VENUE!!!! we are both so happy I cant even put it into words! I cant stop smiling... the place is a beautiful ballroom... They will set things up any way you want... I was stressing about who I was going to have set up the space after the ceramony into the reception space they do it all at no extra cost they provide you with an attendent thru out ur entire event you can bring in any venders you want....  the part that sold me.... for 1700 (which includes the taxes) you have the event space from 9am until midnight!!!! the other places I considered wanted over 2600 for 10 hrs you couldnt set up anytime before or clean up anytime after it had to be done within that time frame... but with this place there is no stressing about set up... I'm just beyond happy.... so for those of you stressing GOOD THINGS DO HAPPEN AND THINGS WILL FALL INTO PLACE!!!!! breathe easy my beautiful brides to be!!!!! Laughing

[QUOTE]Well that makes much more sense! In the first post it sounded like you NEEDED it for 10 hours, which you have to admit would be really long. Congrats on finding your venue!

Well hang on ten hours could be necessary. I was a bridesmaid for my friends wedding and we did everybody's hair and make up there and the guys helped set up while my Fiancé helped decorate the cake the photographers took a while taking photos before the ceremony. we got there around 10 AM and didn't leave until 8PM. every wedding is different but in the end we are all married to our one true love :)

yeah I could understand why 10 hrs would be necessary... but I was guesstimating I'd only need the spece for about 6 to 7 hrs being that our wedding is going to be late in the evening but even places I looked at that allowed us to rent by the hr cost more then the venue we booked... now that I've found a space that rents to us the entire day at such a low cost I'm prob going to do the same thing you did and have makeup done there and pictures and what not

Well, don't jump off a roof. You will not fit into your dress if you're in a full body cast.
  • Congrats!  That's awesome - I was stressed finding venues as well,  Though I technically don't officially have my venue yet . . . I just have one that I will probably be going will.

One of the stresses that I had, tying this in to the 10hr time for a venue, was that my FI wanted to set up decorations the night before.  We are having an afternoon reception and won't have time to get things ready in the morning (unfortunately we have to do a ton of things ourselves), so the venue we might go with essentially said we could set up anywhere up to three days in advance, and leave things up for an extended period of time.  Which has made my FI so very happy . . . the major downside is that they don't allow alcohol.  Pros and cons to everything!

I'd jump up and down on a trampoline for a bit instead of jumping off a roof for joy.  Unless you jump off a roof into a pool - that would be fun!

NO ALCOHOL!!!!! thats one of the most wanted things at a reception.... loop hole if no alcohol is allowed inside then have ur guest chugs their drinks outside and then run back inside lololol J/p but it is pretty stressful trying to find a venue that fits all of ur needs... you have to sacrafice a thing or two... in my case its being on the ocean. but thats great they will let you set up in advance the other venue I looked at wouldnt allow us too... nobody should have to stress about setting things up their wedding day when they should be relaxing... Well congrats on your possible location and maybe I'll just jump off a roof onto a trampoline and into a pool... now that would be extrememly fun (unless I miss lol)

That sounds like a riot - the successful jump, not the missing one.
