6's post reminded me that it is probably just about my Knotiversary.  SEVEN years.  I was thinking back on the issue that drove me here:  MIL's crazy email to DH that she "accidentally" sent to me complaining about the fact of our rehearsal dinner (she was hardly required to attend, merely invited; I would have been happier if she had skipped it, frankly) and various other complaints.  Honestly, knowing what I know now, it would have been a lot easier to shrug off if I had fully understood the extent of her alcoholism and how deeply it affected her mental functioning.

Anyhoo, it led me to wonder:  what originally brought y'all to WW, way back when?  And how long have you been here?

I think I lurked for a couple of weeks because my local board was boring me.  I think I started posting here in October 2006 or so.

I think my join date is 5/8/06...so approaching 7 years here too.  Don't think I jumped in here for several months though.

ETA: my BFF was an old RE/P&Eer so she directed me to the forums.  The humor and quick wit without the contant vag juice references ::cough::AFB::cough:: was what made me choose WW as home.

soomeone posted about her love for sewing, and that she wanted to give out sewing kits as wedding favors, but it was all a joke. i followed the replies back from AFB to this board, and then that was it.

It says I've been here for a decade.  How does that happen?  I actually lurked on RE way back when.  I have no idea how I found it.
