Wedding Woes

It's Monday

How was the weekend?

Saturday I did party prep and DH braved the store with 3 kids.  6let had his first preschool bday party.  He had a blast, but M2 was made when she woke up from a nap with no dad or brother here.  She was even worse when he came home with a ball, a bottle of water, and a lollipop.  Seriously these are like her favorite things and he had all 3.

Sunday was PAAAAARTAY.  We had a really great time.  M2 has never once napped at a party of anyone's.  Yesterday she conked out while everyone else literally played around her.  She was too cute opening her presents, but wanted zero part of blowing out the candles.

I declare Costco cake to be pretty awesome too.

Weekend was good.  We got the kiddo Friday night from my IL's and had dinner with them.  It took me for-ev-er to get DH out of there, even though the kiddos and I were so tired, because he was yukking it up with his uncle and FIL.

Saturday--Of course, DefConn wanted no part of sleeping in even though he went to bed late. After our banana pancake and oven bacon breakfast, DefConn and I went grocery shopping. DH brewed some beer (Scottish Ale this time).  I ran to the mall in the afternoon while DefConn was napping. We had our neighbors over to cook out.

Sunday-Spent a lot of the day tired as I ended up falling asleep on the couch and woke up at 2am stiff as a board and then DefConn was up at 4:30am for some reason (he went back to sleep, thankfully).  We went outside after naptime and DefConn and the neighbor kid played together for 2+ hours.  DH came home from work and took the kids to the park while I made dinner.

We watched TV and went to bed...but not before having to put DefConn in our room in the PnP because he was having some sort of meltdown and would not sleep in his room.  At least he slept in ours.  I think he's having allergies/hay fever.  He had a runny nose yesterday and had this dry cough too.  I think I may try some Benadryl or Claritin for him and see if it helps.

We're supposed to have warm weather, but rain all week.  We have a decently busy week.  I have a dentist appt, M2 and Max have doc appts, and I have "Memories with Mom" at preschool Thursday.  I'm so excited 6let is going back to preschool this week.

Weekend was good.  glasses were pretty successfully kept on and we did easter 2.0 on Sunday so my big sis could hang w/ us.
  • Friday I tackled the mountain of laundry and DH worked.

Saturday we got up early, picked up my mom and headed to the Macy's Flower Show.  We stopped for breakfast and got to the show about 30 mins after it opened.  The line was crazy long but moved quickly.  There were so many different varieties of lilies and orchids.  The colors were amazing.

When we got back to town, we stopped at Costco to check it out.  They were having a special preview and discount for my employer.  I thought prices were a little better than Sam's Club.  The produce section was awesome.  We did get a membership and will have both Sam's and Costco until our Sam's expires next month.  They had door prizes to sign up for, a big coupon sheet and a $10 gift card if you joined.  One downside of Costco is that there are no signs on the aisles listing what's where.  I have read that it's intentional so you wander through the store.

Yesterday was church, H went to work and I took a 2 hour nap.  It was glorious!

    Costco cake is delicious.

Friday- concert was great.  The opening bands SUCKED.  The upper level of the theater was closed for some reason, where ALL of the seats were.  They had a tiny section of seats that are pretty much for parents waiting for their kids, but they were full.  The bartender grabbed DH and said, "is your wife pg?  I'll get her a chair, and she can sit wherever she wants."  I was so grateful for that.  I couldn't have stood for 5 hours straight and I really didn't want to sit on the floor.  DH drank too much beer and I was stuck driving his snoring ass home, which pissed me off because *I* wanted to sleep on the way home since I'd been up since 5am.

Saturday- shopping with my mama.  We got the fabric for the baby quilt and hit up Costco and Trader Joe's.  And then my back bearings, which DH was going to replace on Sunday, fracking went when I was driving home.  With a car full of groceries.  He was in Indiana at his game day with his friends.  So I got to sit for an hour and wait for the tow truck and pay an extra $36 for overmileage because I was 9 miles over the free AAA tow limit (which really, not so terrible for $36 for a tow).

Sunday- DH didn't get home until 2pm because he had to pull some parts off a car at the junkyard in order to fix my car and spent all morning doing so.  So Sunday was pretty much shot.  I was stuck at home.

    So I'd say I had a 50/50 weekend :/

  • It was a good weekend. Friday I found a new spot for happy hour with a friend.

Sat, i went shopping and don't you know when you have a few coins in your pocket you can never find anything.

Sunday, I just chilled. I didn't even go to church. Bad me.

  • Costco cake is the shiznit.  Best.cake.ever.
  • Friday we went over to a friend's house for his birthday and played some games.

Saturday was our 5K, which was a blast.  However, I have to wear goggles for the next one.  As feared, the colored powder + hard contacts didn't mix well.  The sunglasses didn't stop enough of the powder coming through.  We have another race in 3 weeks that's the same style, I'll be wearing goggles.  Then we ate like mad, slept like rocks and got up to go play more games.

Sunday was hot yoga which felt great after the run and housework.

I woke up feeling like crap this morning.  I think my allergies are in full swing.

Picture of after finish line, where I got hit with the most powder and my eyes started tearing so much I just grabbed onto DH and shut them.  I'm melting!

  • Friday was my day off. I had a groupon for a spa mani/pedi so i did that, went shopping (returned a skirt, bought a dress), and got lunch at a mexican restaurant. hung out at home in the afternoon and played Skyrim, watched the hockey game, and went to bed.

Saturday - was up early with Wolverine. took her to Dunkin Donuts to get a surprise for DK. Spent the day cleaning, playing with Wolverine, playing Skyrim, making dinner, and watching Les Mis with DK.

Sunday - DK got up with Wolverine so I could sleep in.  tried to empty the DVRs since both of our boxes need to be switched out. we got through one of them. i barbequed (chicken and ribs) and we had the ribs for dinner. i experimented with a different dry rub (i make my own), and they were fantastic. My sister bought a new Kinda Fire, so Wolverine and I talked to her on Skype for a while. I gave my hedgehog a bath, DK and I watched GoT, and we went to bed early.

  • Friday - DD and I had a little mommy/daughter time while daddy was off playing games.  We went to McDonalds for dinner, then we went shopping.  We went to Old Navy to spend our "super cash" or whatever it's called and that place was a mad house.  Then we went to Micheals and bought some beads and pipe cleaners for an activity I've been wanting to do with DD.  After Michael's, we went to Target and scored some awesome Easter clearance.   And I had bribed DD with the old "we'll get a treat if you're good while we're shopping" trick.  So when we were done shopping at 9:30pm, way past her bedtime, we went to a frozen yogurt place and ate a whole bunch of sugar.   (For those keeping track, I had sorbet - no dairy for me)
Saturday - just chilled for most of the day.  Played outside for a little while and blew bubbles with DD.  Then DD and I made necklaces with beads and pipe cleaners (it's easier for little ones to thread the beads on pipe cleaner than on string).  She has SO much fun.
Sunday - we all went to see the movie "Oz".   Boo.  None of us liked it.
  • Friday-H and I hung low, because he worked Saturday 8-4.

Saturday-got up, got around and then out for a long run.  It turned out really well, it was SUUUPER windy but I managed to keep high spirits, not have too much pain and I'm really happy about it.  My first really long run outside.  Met friend for breakfast, wandered around and then did not a lot at home.  H came home, we went out for dinner at a burrito place (LOVE) and then window shopped for a coffeemaker.  Then went home where we sat in two different rooms and shopped online.  Settled on one (even though H doesn't drink coffee, he likes how they look?).  Ha.

Sunday-H was gone pretty much all day.  Did a bit of house cleaning, if that means <10 minutes vacuuming.  Did a physical search of a local store for the coffeemaker I want, their website lied, they didn't have it.  Bought some springy clothes at JCP, came home.  Went to dinner 2 times and ordered new coffeemaker online.  YAY!

PS.  Now I'm sick, like legit.  I'm going to the doctor, if they say this is a cold, I know I'm a giant pvssy.

</div><div>Weekend was good. Got most of the grodiest bits of the house clean on Saturday, after picking up a new-to-us Wii (ours keeps turning off for no reason) and new games. Caught up on TV, and watched "Sinister", which was fcking creepy as sht. Highly recommend. </div><div>
</div><div>Yesterday I had church, and I have a NEW GIRL STORY! that I will put in another post. Then I went to the ballgame with GayH and TheTenor and got some sun. Rockies won, of course. I may go get some dollar tacos from Taco Bell today because we got over 7 runs, too. </div><div>
</div><div>And I'm already done with work for today. Bacon doesn't have to be picked up until 5 because of Ultimate Frisbee practice, so I'm hoping to watch Mad Men and get some writing done. </div>

  • It was all about sleep this weekend. I went to bed at 9 pm on Friday and save for one wake up, slept until 8 am. Got up, did a few chores, then was exhausted. We went out for dinner because I wanted a salad. It of course, I promptly felt like azz and said salad was totally unappealling. Sunday was more exhaustion, except worse. I had to rest for 15 minutes after coming up the stairs because it took all of my energy. More sleeping. I alternate in a cycle of extreme fatigue, hunger, and nausea. It will pass. Next week is my ultrasound/first doctor appointment.

The weekend was too busy. I had to like... socialize. It was awful.

But I go to NYC next week, so I'm stoked about that.
