Wedding Woes

This week off from WalMart is amazing.

But I actually had to ask Etiquette Hell how to deal with New Girl. Despite my never talking to her, and giving only one-word answers to her non-musical questions, she insists on acting like we're besties - and not in an endearing, Mayim Bialik on Big Bang Theory way.

I was joking with GayH that I've never been a cool kid before - I don't have the social skills to handle people I can't stand wanting to be friends with me.

My boss actually told me to enjoy my "week off". I didn't bother to tell him it wasn't a vacation, but I was at church from 8 till 1 yesterday. That doesn't feel like time off, IMO.

Bacon starts playing Ultimate Frisbee next week. We'll see how this goes. I knew I was a bad influence, smoking pot in the garage.

  • Did you get a job with the evil empire?  How did I miss this?

  • I have a job changing out magazines and books. I work at two different WalMarts, a Kroger, an Office Depot, Home Depot, and Walgreens.

I don't mind any of the other stores, but the WalMarts are just unbelievably awful. The employees, the customers - everything. Some woman actually ran into me with a cart a couple weeks ago because I was in her way - when I looked up to see what was going on, thinking that it was an accident, she glared at me and was all, "Well?" because I didn't move fast enough. Like, no.

I took this week off for Holy Week. Technically, I could have done most of it, but I didn't want to be rushing around like crazy to get to everything. And Bacon's on Spring Break - I can only leave her alone so much, you know?

  • I see.  Yes, I remember the book/magazine thing.

How many ads for Black have been slipped into the Twilight books?

  • Heh. I only do books at Kroger's, and they don't sell, or I would totally be slipping bookmarks everywhere.

If traditional publishing wants to know why they don't make any money, I have some thoughts. Don't send 30 copies of a hardback new release to a podunk ghetto grocery store, for starters.

  • I am relieved to hear that you don't actually work for Walmart.
