Wedding Woes

Friday

What's up for the weekend?

It's going to be an awesome day.  Max was up twice last night and all 3 kids were up before 6.  It's raining.  DH is cranky.  All that good feeling crap from Wednesday is gone.  I have to go to Walmart and McDonald's today.  I promised 6let McDs AND that we could eat inside.

Tomorrow we're doing garden work.  Sunday I have a meeting and DH wants to take the kids to some fishing thing at Cabela's.

Son has a game tonight at 7pm.  At 7pm it's supposed to be 41*.  I am thinking the girls and I will be staying home.  I really hate missing games, but that's just too cold for them.  It's too cold for ME.  We're really hoping it just rains all day so the game is cancelled.

Tomorrow my mom has invited us to go exploring with the kids at the farm she and my aunt own (inherited from their father when their step-mom died in 2011).  A couple of my siblings are going and my cousins.  Normally I'd be excited to go, but again, I think it's just going to be too cold.  I may have to pass.  The farm will still be there this summer.

So my weekend isn't looking too eventful.  I've been wanting to get to JoAnn's ever since GBCK posted the pic of the smocked dress she made for Buffy.

  • One of our friends is coming to visit before she moves out to Albuquerque next week. We're going to go see The Magic Flute tomorrow and I'm mad excited because aw yiss Der Holle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen.

Thus far, we have nothing planned for Sunday afaik.

I'm all excited because in exactly a week, I'll be waking up on a train going from Charlotte, NC to NYC for a random long weekend. I'm seeing my favorite band in Jersey on Friday night then spending all of Saturday and half of Sunday in NYC visiting one of my best friends. It's gonna be awesome.

  • The Queen is the only part I like in Magic Flute.  I never liked performing Mozart's opera (or really any of his vocals)  It's so exact, it felt so technical and exactlng that it was cold rather than the feels I always got from Puccini or Verdi.

Our weekend is supposed to be nice.  Hot yoga tonight.  I really want to go get a new boardgame that we played at a friends that I really really really really liked, but DH is saying no.  :(  Bike ride, seeing Ikiru and discussion on it tomorrow and that's about it.  After last really busy 2 weekends, it'll be nice to have a slower paced one.

I'm a fan of Bellini and Saint-Saens. The only Mozart I've sung are Der Holle Rache and Voi Che Sapete, I think.

  • I've never seen a Bellini live.  I studied a lot of his operas b/c of an obsession with Maria Callas. The bel cantos always seemed reserved for the coloratura sopranos.  I was a mezzo and funny enough, my favorite trouser role was Le Nozze di Figaro...Mozart (what you were talking about).  Go figure, but beggars can't be choosers.

I don't think I'm familiar with any of Saint Saens except the Samson and Delilah.  I love his piano music though.
  • I read stillwell's post in my head and it's very interesting.  VELLY intellesting.

Today will drag on.  We're digging into a project that isn't bidding for 2 weeks yet, and it will consume me alive.  I'll call subs and they'll annoy the everlivingshit out of me.  But I have to, cause it's my job.

Tomorrow-H will be busy most of the day.  I'm assuming I'll be running in gale force winds again.  Yay?  I'll find an intown route that is a little more protected.  We shall see.  Then hoping to see a movie with H during the afternoon.

Sunday-not sure.  Hopefully lots of foam rolling, reading books, and general laziness.

  • DH *should* be off by 1 or so today...Should being the operative word.   The kiddo has a sleepover tonight.  I may be going out to dinner with a friend.  DH and DefConn may get some sorely needed one on one time.

The rest of the weekend?  IDK.  DH does not have to go into the office Sunday, but I bet he ends up working.

The house is in decent shape and DefConn's feeling better.  It's supposed to get pretty nice out there, so who knows what could happen?
  • Tonight: dinner with the ILs

Tomorrow: pick up my BM mumu, grocery shop, going to a friend's for a BBQ and bonfire, when it's supposed to be 46 as the high.

Sunday: We really need to get the yard cleaned up and get caught up on Dr Who.

  • No plans for me this weekend.  DH is going to take DD to see The Croods tomorrow morning and then take her to his board gaming club for a while.  We still only have one working car, so I'll be stuck at home.  I will have the whole house to myself for a good chunk of the day - that's not bad I guess.   I might color my hair, shave my legs and do my nails.  Woohoo.  Watch out
world.  If you're lucky I might pluck my eyebrows.   (My life is tres exciting.)

V- what game is it that you want to buy?
  • Civilization.  We played it at a friends house (the one we've been gaming with almost every weekend) and I LOVED it, once I figured it out.  But we've only played it the once while I was figuring it out and now I need to start sharpening the skillz!!!  ;)

I also want to get Android: Netrunner.  It's another card game, but it's 2 person only.  DH and I need games we can have fun playing just the 2 of us too.  We love Arkham Horror and Settlers, but we end up playing 2 characters each and that can get hairy...especially if wine is flowing.

MIL is taking the boys tonight! I don't know what we'll do. I have about 3 gazillion things I'd like to do. It's always hard to pick one or two.

Saturday we pick them up. Maybe go to the science center. No clue what else. Probably just wait for Monday to roll around like we usually do on the weekend. Sunday should be warm, at least, so we can go outside and do stuff. YAY for that!

  • Tonight DH is working late, and he has to work tomorrow. So tonight and tomorrow it will be me and DS and who knows what we'll do. We're supposed to meet my parents for lunch tomorrow and I'm praying I feel good. My mom has been making hints that she thinks I'm pregnant but I'm not ready to tell them. Other than that it will be chores.
