Wedding Woes

They do exist!

I'm going to a wedding in Sept. and was browsing their wedding website.

And then I came upon this:

Instead of bubbles or balloons we have chosen to have a ribbon wand exit!
We ask that everyone grab a ribbon wand and stand outside and wave them as the bride and groom come out!

Yes, I'll bring my camera.

    this is still a thing?
  • This is the second wedding I've heard of recently that is planning on ribbon wands.

Everything 'old' is new again, eh?
  • Considering DB still has the BM dress that I almost selected in 2006, I have a feeling the ribbon wands never really went away.

    I hope there's a dollar dance too!

I saw this on Four Weddings the other night.  They even had bells on them to really look like a cat toy.

i love that  this is the alternative, and that bubbles or balloons are probably too cliche.

eh, weddings are a beebee event in general IMO.

  • Hm. The thing is, if it's something you want, and you think it works for your crowd, I say who cares if a million other people did it, or if it's so 1994.  But then, I don't know if that's the thinking or if the thinking is "Whoa.  Ribbon wand.  Who knew?"

We're doing long sparklers.  Is it 'done'?  Cliche?  Everyone else is doing it too?

    I dunno, I dun-care. I likey the sparklery.
