Black Wedding Dress

I just read a style magazine that listed this as the NEWEST trend. 

Would you ever wear a black wedding dress?

Black wedding dresses always remind me of Miss Haversham- she dyed her dress black, right?

I think I saw that article.

Weirdly, my first thought was that it'd be hard to tell the bride from bridesmaid if the bride wore black.  Black to me just equals formal and so much of the embelishments (lace, sequins, crystals, etc), don't translate well to black, so it's just be fabric.  I guess you could argue the veil would set it off, but a black veil looks like a funeral to me.

I love the other colors they've been using, but black seems like it'd only work for a smaller and more intimate wedding.

miss havisham just wore her dress until it was in tatters. it was probably blackened, but not dyed.  just regular filthy.

I saw some of the dresses that are being promoted and to me only one really looked wedding-esque but it was white with a sheer black lace over. And I didn't think OOOH wedding I thought OOOH Halloween.... 

I agree Varuna some of the pretty coloured ones I've seen are really cool. I know Red is traditional Indian. I just cant put my head around black and I love black!

i have actually seen black wedding gowns for goth brides on a web site and i thought they were pretty.not for me though.
