Nola/Taw - TWD - SPOILERS

So, my thoughts can be summed up perfectly by these guys:

Why are they all so stupid?

Also, DH and I argued for quite awhile about Carl shooting that "boy".  I thought Carl did the right thing.  The "boy" should have dropped the gun when he was told to - handing someone a gun with your finger still near the trigger is not dropping the gun.  That "boy" was there trying to kill Rick's people - yes, he was scared and running - but that doesn't mean he wasn't a threat.  (I say "boy" because he seemed like an adult to me, but they kept calling him boy/kid)
All that being said, I do think Rick needs to be a parent and tell Carl to get his act together.  Although, once you have to kill your own mother, I'm not sure any amount of parenting will help...  As annoying as Carl was in season 2, he might just be the most ineresting character now.  <---- my random thoughts.

Re: Nola/Taw - TWD - SPOILERS

  • I just wanted to pop in even though I don't know you, I was browsing :)

My BF and I heartily disagree on the Carl situation. I think he was well within his rights to shoot him. He didn't drop his gun, and to *me*, was leaning forward whenever he was handing (?) it to Carl. Carl has seen some ish, and I didn't bat an eyelash when he also told Rick to buck up because hell, we all know Rick needs it.

Bf on the other hand thinks there's a screw loose with Carl (which I don't entirely disagree with) and he shot him for absolutely no reason. I think there was a pretty particular reason that the camera faced Carl during the last moments of that scene, to leave the viewers wondering just how the kid was moving so no one can officially call Carl out on it but Hershel.

  • I have weird feelings about Carl killing the boy.  I completely agreed with what Carl said to his dad about his reasoning, but I think I wouldn't be so put off if anyone else had killed him.  I think it's the thought of pre-teen Carl killing a live person and being "meh" about it.  But again, he killed his mom.

The whole Andrea vs the pliers thing was almost insulting to the audience.  I felt like if they were going to go that route, they could have made it appear harder for her somehow.  She got those pliers fairly easily from behind the chair, why not drag that part out while talking to Milton at the same time, instead of getting them in front of her and her ignoring them while trying to keep Milton conscious?

I don't know how I feel about them teaming up with the Woodbury crew.  But that's just me not liking newcomers and feeling like season 4 might be the end.  Like they're finally on the right path to rebuilding and the end of the show.  But so many old people and kids.  Ugh.

  • Yes, the man told her to hurry up.

Carl did what he needed to do, but they might as well have let the boy live if they were going to save the entire town anyway.

I loved to faces of the guys climbing in the truck when the governor shot his own people.
