It's kind of boring.  We were in Las Vegas.  He got down on one knee in the hotel room.

We were at my parents' house and he asked if I wanted to go on a walk, so we did.  On the walk (it was chilly) he grabbed my hand and put it in his jacket pocket and pressed a ring box into my hand.  I got really nervous thinking that it could be just a necklace and he didn't realize what I thought this meant.  Then we sat down on some steps and he formally proposed (no knee, though) and I said yes. 

Then he tried to talk me out of it.  <-- true story

June 2005: We were moving into a new place, I was hot and sweaty and had a horrendous summer cold.  I went to the one bedroom that had a bed and told him I was going to take a break.  I was irritated that he followed me, started digging through his pocket, then got down on one knee.  I was like "Now??? You're proposing Now???" - but just in my head.  I was nice on the outside.  And I said yes.   (duh.)

It was the day before Valentine's Day.  I came home from work and DH was there and "just hadn't gone to get Son" from the ILs.  Something was up.  He told me to go take a shower and we'd go out to eat just the two of us.  Okaaaaay.

I showered and got ready and he sat me down on the couch.  He gave me a Vday gift.  I opened the bag and it was a video game.  I was all "Oh, awesome!  Let's play!"  He laughed, got down on one knee, and began a lovely speech about our lives and proposed at the end, pulling a ring box out of his back pocket.

I said yes, bawled, and we hugged forever.  Then we ate a romantic proposal dinner at Chilis.  What?  We were kids (23 and 22).  We couldn't afford a REAL romantic dinner yet.

We got engaged in July 2005, two days before my 21st birthday.  In hind sight, that was WAY too young.  We were home from college for the summer and were grilling a turducken with his family.  I went upstairs to go pee and found him in his bedroom, where he got down on one knee.  I don't even remember what he said.  I do know that I said yes. 

Weirdly enough, I saw the shirt that I wore in a commercial the other day.  I thought it was weird that a commercial made in 2013 had a 8 year old Old Navy shirt in it.

DH took me out to dinner and we saw a movie. He was so weird the entire night but I thought "eh, whatever". After we got home he was weirdly insistent on going to bed even though it was like 9:30. So I fall asleep and I'm woken up by the smell of roses, and he was there by the bed proposing.

People always have to assume that the guy proposed to the girll! 

I actually proposed to my husband. We were in bed and I just kind of looked at him and asked him if he wanted to get married and that was that. Not the most romantic, but we'd been living together for 3 years, dating for 4..it was just time. Sometimes if you want something to get done, you gotta do it yourself.
